*** Official Mass Effect 2 Thread ***

Just read the review in PC Gamer - this game (quite predictably) is looking pretty sweet! Glad I backed up my save from the first game - hopefully it won't matter that I was halfway through my second playthrough on the same character!

This game is going to be epic just like the first one, btw are we going tobe able to use our save file from Mass Effect 1 ?

Does anyone have experience with preordering from game? I took the standard delivery option and im curious as to how reliable they are for delivering the game to arrive for the release date.

If this doesn't arrive on release day im going to have to buy it in the shops and have my parents send the order back to them as i wont be there the following week and im not going to miss out on this :D

I always get them a day or two before release day with standard delivery. Most often the Wednesday before!

Why am i not surprised that the differences between the CE and DDE are bizarre and unclear yet again.

Official Soundtrack and Incisor Rifle are listed as exclusive. Yet the CE DVD clealy contains a soundtrack... then again the bonus footage that is the equivilent on the DDE also mentions a soundtrack...

I guess the real benefit is the actual Comic/Artbook, a PDF just isn't the same and can be downloaded no doubt.

Agreed.

The soundtracks on the CD and DDE are just samplers mind. For the full soundtrack, you have to buy the CD.

Doesn't sound like it if thats the case. Both have listed 'Soundtrack' in the DVD thing, but the DDE also mentions the Official Soundtrack, which sounds more like the full thing.

I can't decide what version to get. I looked on the mass effect website to see the actual difference and there doesn't seem to be too much. Does anyone know what the Cerberus Network Membership Card will do? The standard edition and collectors edition both have the bonus of coming a day or two early however the digital deluxe edition is 33 quid and contains roughly the same stuff as the collectors edition.

If i didn't want the CE id go for a digital version, that way no need for the cd to be in the drive when you want to play.

It is unfortunately. My info comes from a dev post on the official forums when the very subject came up. I'd like to be wrong, mind.

They did the same with Mass Effect 1 and you got 12 tracks taken from the soundtrack, not the complete thing.

CE will get you the artbook, making of dvd, comic, and CE armour. The network card is included in every copy of the game, whichever version you are getting.

Hmm, interesting, i can only wonder if theres actually a point in having that many teammates though.

Its a shame to see the usual 'play the game and do nothing out of the ordinary' method of getting all the achievements. I mean the only remotely challenging 1 will be to complete the game on Insanity.
