*** Official Mass Effect 2 Thread ***

Hmm, now how the hell do i get my free copy of the Hammerhead DLC? I've activated my Cerberus Network with Bioware a long time (as far as i can tell, it says the keys have been redeemed so i guess it was me) and a few minutes ago registered the game because i forgot. But where the hell do i get it?

Yeah, that's the one reason i wasn't too keen on the weapon, you couldn't use it at all unless you were above 100%, and then you'd only get the one shot. Not really useful apart from the reaper battle. Bloody powerful though, had some fun overkilling mercs

Depending on your choice on zaeeds loyalty mission you can get extra heavy weapon ammo, with all the upgrades you can get 2 shots. Its the only heavy weapon i ever use, i almost view it as cheating even on insanity and its never really nessecary anyway. Still looks cool :D

Shadow Broker, aside from being a great episode, allows you to retrain your squad's powers which I never knew about. That is a huge bonus IMHO.

Handy, beats waiting for a new game before you can redo there skills. Especially since my current game (Hardcore Infiltrator) i've messed up some of my squadmates skills already by putting far too many points in the useless attribute buffing skill. Should've thought it through more, especailly the last 4 pointer selection which is even worse than the previous ones.

Well i'm considering picking up some DLCs (however much i hate not having them added to Steam) and i'm just wondering whats worth the money.

I've pretty much decided i'm going to get Lair of the Shadow Broker and the Firepower Pack (400+560 for £7.43) and was wondering what peoples opinions were on the Overlord and Kasumi DLCs (560 or £4.33 each). Are those 2 worth the money? Good experience? Some nice upgrades/item? Decent gameplay/story?

I played through the Hammerhead DLC from the cerberus network last night and my god it was bad. If it wasn't for the 156x5 experience it wouldn't have been worth the time.

Kasumi DLC is pretty looking, but pretty light on content imo and adds little to the game. Overlord is kind of cool.

Yeah, Overlord has some cool moments. I was quite in awe as the end approached. :) Apparently Kasumi's flash bang grenade skill is quite useful against the Collectors.

Decided to take the plunge and just get both. Opinions of Overlord seem pretty good and Katsumi did sound fairly short (said maybe 1.5hours at best) but worth getting if you intend to play through the game again which i am doing atm and may play a bit more too.

But my god i hate planet scanning. Having to travel to each and every planet just to check if theres an anomoly and occasionally having to spend 15 minutes mining now and then to get enough minerals. Its just so tedious.

Kasumi is great. The mission itself is fairly short (although it it is different and fun) but she is a good character. She has comments for all missions in the game and is the only one who will comment on your relationships with other crew members. You also get the best sub-machine gun in the game on her mission.

The planets added in DLC often have a good supply of minerals, particularly the rarer ones. Once I had finished the game the first time I found that the starting bonus for subsequent play throughs means that you barely have to do any mining at all. You can edit the values in the PC version anyway.

Just aquestion about the Cerebus network, does it only allow you to get the following content for free?

Zaeed - The Price of Revenge (Cerberus Network)
Cerberus Weapon and Armor (Cerberus Network)
Normandy Crash Site (Cerberus Network)
Cerberus Arc Projector (Cerberus Network)
Firewalker Pack (Cerberus Network)

and all the others must be purchased seprately?
Is it worth purchasing them all before starting the game or can they all be played after completion?

You don't get *that* much. The 50000 Element Zero you get is more than enough to cover everything you need unless you start retraining powers frequently but you still need about 200,000 of the others (something like that going by the numbers from the ME wiki). I did a fair bit of mining yesterday when i was doing the Hammerhead missions since the planets seemed quite good for it, if nothing else, unfortunately its probably fair to say the mining was only slightly less tedious than the missions themselves.

I may just look into editing them on new playthroughs tbh.

Edit: Yes the Cerberus Network lets you get all those for free, though only Zaeed is any good. Thats assuming you have an original copy of the game and as such have the key for it otherwise you'd have to buy access to it.

You can do DLCs after completion (with the obvious exception if you were killed in the Suicide Mission since all deaths are PERMANENT) but it doesn't really matter when you do them. Better to get the new characters sooner if you want to try playing with them or to have the option available, or better to go do them for the experience/weapons/upgrades but theres no real specific time or place to do them.

If I do all of the side quests, am I leaving less time to gain the loyalty of everyone and save my crew at the end? I just finished a side quest, but now have a main story mission to do and feel I have just wasted time.

Also, I have heard that recruitung everyone and getting them loyal before recruiting Legion leaves more time until your crew are abducted? Any insight?

As soon as you start the mission to the derelict Reaper, you're against the clock so to speak. You only have time for one more mission if you want to save your entire crew. And that mission should be Legion's loyalty mission for the perfect playthrough. So yes, you'll need to get everyone else loyal before that Reaper trip.

How much paragon do you need to get Jack back loyal?

Didn't have enough to break up the fight peacefully at the time but the options are still greyed out at 60%~ when I speak to Jack (do these options actually get Jack back to loyal?) as I really want a 100% squad+crew Insanity play-through for ME3!

Can you start it whenever or do you get forced to start it once it appears?
