**** Official Microsoft Flight Simulator Thread ****

Screenshots from the New flight sim on a I7 6800K, 32GB 2133 ddr4 memory, 1TB Samsung 970 pro plus M.2 drive. ASUS X99-11a motherboard and a Asus Tuf OC RTX3080 with a 62 mb internet connection and a Corsair RM850x power supply, the shots with the small frame rate box are at 4K settings on a 1080P TV using NVIDIA's software upscale, the larger boxes with the faster speeds are at 1080P are at the TV's native output. Either way they both are running really smoothly without any noticeably stuttering i can detect. everything is wound up to max IE ULTRA inc traffic except the one under TAA that is at 100. Still playing around with settings, had pixellation of the cloud edges but have sorted that.

Strangely dia it tends to flag up GPU limited or threadlocked? If you look on the images showing the frame rate it tells you just underneath what is limiting it, but it’s relatively smooth at that height, I have updated both the PC drivers and graphics so they have improved a bit, I’ve been playing around with settings, but that is what I see. I am going to do some wilderness stuff for someone so will upload them. I have ASUS shut down other programmes for gaming and haven’t tended to O C, pc has been running at performance.

Thanks.
Pretty decent hardware you've got there, I'm going to be building a new PC for this sim, I think I will need to settle for a 2060 or maybe a 2070 super, just wondering how well a 2070 super would cope with it, anyone running it on a 2070 at all ?

Thanks I was worried it wouldn’t run it when I upgraded the two ASUS 970 Stiks SLI though they coped ok with it near ultra to the 3080 OC, but in changing the card I upgraded the power supply from a RM650X to the 850 version, as the new card does like the juice. I had been thinking it would need a card and chip upgrade but was pleased it’s ok as is.
There is a new 3060 tI I think beats the 2070.

Uploaded some pictures of arrival at EMA flypast following the A4453 to picking up the A42 towards Ashby over Lount the and the dump to and around Ashby for you, some buildings will be different as autogen as opposed to photorealistic, but they will be there, see my link to my Flickr account to view them. It’s in the posts before this. See post 2972.

Amazing thanks. It's really impressive!

Might grab this. Have been looking into options for the AP switches. Dialling in altitude changes can be a bother during bumpy flights.

That does look handy, as you say would be good for AP switches - I've been looking at the Honeycomb Yoke but the throttle panel is impossible to get just now; something like this as a combo with the yoke might be a good stop gap

World Update is out, ~1GB Store Download for the loader and then I've got 12.7GB for the game itself. I have Deluxe Premium so it maybe less for others.

Don't forget the ~4Gb USA update data too - free download in the marketplace

Still seems like a slightly odd way to do it to me rather than just including it in the base sim but I suppose it gives users control over which modules they want installed.

What's the difference in the USA now? I'm quite impressive by most of the cities in the US and that was prior to the update, it looks very realistic, unlike when flying over the UK and most cities filled with generic buildings and looks nothing like the real thing.

It’s a pretty big update, too long to list it all in a post really so take a look here

And yeah the states was already in a better state (no pun intended) than the UK (or much of Europe to be honest), but that’s mostly due to bing’s lack of photogrammetry data.

Let’s hope Europe sees a world update soon, I think they are releasing a new roadmap for the next few months soon. I would especially like to see a better rendition of the alps...

Has anyone successfully got VR working in FS2020 with the Quest 2? When I start VR I see the graphics moving with the headset on the monitor but in the headset I just see an orange void. I've tried both Link and Wireless.

VR is in beta and if you are part of that then you should be asking for help in the beta forums, if not then no, it wont work at the moment.

Installed new patch via Steam, game loaded up OK but didn't do the usual checking for new content thing, and now I can't access the Marketplace as the button is greyed out?!?

Any ideas?

Development of this sim seems to be progressing quickly. Released shortly after the beta, country updates not long after release and now vr next month
