Servers must really be getting hammered. My dl has dropped to 6 bloody mbps

Agree with you on that; MS/Asobo really need to remember where the money is coming from... its the sim fans who are forking out for Premium Deluxe, etc its a nice "freebie" for a lot of more casual users via GamePass though!

I think the Top Gun plane gets added when the movie comes out. Not fully sure on this though someone might be able to confirm.

Quick Google and the film comes out on or around 19th November.

Not yet; its not due until later this year; currently the Sim doesn't handle supersonic flight very well so I assume thats part of an upcoming update too

Well, got it downloaded, and yep, massive performance uplift. VR is still dreadful on my 2070, but I can run it at 5120x1440 hitting freesync range with a few notches pulled back from ultra. Happy with that.

I think there’s a couple of freeware F14 tomcats but I don’t know what they’re like.

They are trying to grow the market… if they don’t make it more accessible to new comers then they can’t really achieve that.

I don’t personally see an issue with making it more approachable with assistance options that don’t affect me with them turned off.

cessna 152, did a test before update and fps was 33-43fps with occasional stutters, stutter appears to have gone now so looking good, moor testing with other aircraft and locations will follow . Looking promising. I have the t45 goshawk and that will be my next test.

3440x1440 ultra wide, some settings are ultra, more testing needed.

Thanks all reference the top gun plane! Is it the F18? I know the F14 was in movie 1.

Ive been learning the F18 in DCS and it’s complex to say the least but very wow too!

Looks like the promised performance gains have been made too

I really want a fast jet (proper, not a trainer) for FS but the current offerings range between mediocre and absolute garbage.

Just tried it for ya, external view 40-45fps over London but looks buttery smooth in cockpit was 55-60fps again very smooth, no stutters.
