**** Official Microsoft Flight Simulator Thread ****

It’s a million miles from the standard model. The standard model is an unrealistic, shoddy joke only suitable for the likes of arcade gamers.

The Fenix is a proper simulation. Accurate visuals, modelling, every function of a real A320 and an accurate representation of how the real plane works. It’s what is called a study level plane. You can’t just get in and fly, you need to learn first and keep on learning as you go on.
Thanks, this seems (potentially) perfect for my friends needs.

I am also planning on purchasing the Fenix A320, it looks incredible. However, after reading recent posts on Discord/Facebook I may hold off for a couple of weeks to allow them to smooth things out a bit.

For those of you that have picked up the fenix, I believe it is supposed to have pretty decent failure modelling?

If so, I posted this a long tome ago but now it’s actually relevant - you may find this free document of great use in understanding and managing your failures

If you want to support the guy you can buy a hard copy, digital download is free.

Can vouch for its accuracy, never found a mistake to date (though obviously it’s geared specifically toward easyJet spec and SOP as he mentions) and I use it all the time to augment the other manuals when studying for various bits and bobs in the sim.

I bought the a320 and the pmdg 737, both are good obviously, but the pmdg is a lot easier to get going in, mind you I had a pmdg a few years ago so had a head start on that.
I find the a320 strangely addictive, the visuals and animations are good and it took a while to get a flight plan in the computer the first time.
I've now done a couple of smooth landings and am liking it.

Yeah they finally changed their tune about it last winter… will be good to finally have it implemented.

FSR2.0 was only very recently announced as in the works (makes sense, AMD only revealed it recently!) and that’s great news for anyone without a recent Nvidia card… Will probably help quite a lot for consoles too

Installed the Top Gun update. Just LOL. So their idea of a carrier landing is a straight in approach in daylight on a stationary carrier? I kind of get why they might want to include the “Forza Horizon” version for the Xbox crew, but where’s the more realistic versions?
Bearing in mind that they’ve had a good year, I would have been more impressed in they included both training and achievement options to cover daylight, poor visibility, night time etc

It’s free, stop whinging :p

Indeed, if the challenge is too easy you can change the weather/time to make it harder ad infinitum. Unless the update includes moveable runways then the carrier will always be stationary.

It's all so very half-arsed. I keep moaning about the Hornet's incomprehensibly bad AB implementation and get Asobo apologists trying to explain why it somehow makes sense. The splash screen for the max performance takeoff training even suggests that the afterburner works conventionally, no mention of having to press a button to activate it.

Regardless of it being free to users, it still required development resources. Am sure most people would agree that there's no shortage of things needing more prority than this sort of fluff.

As a DCS Hornet flyer I tried the MSFS hornet and very quickly decided it’s just not worth it, it’s so far behind DCS in every respect that even for free I’ll pass.
