I've had a major success with FS2020 over the last few days.
I've previously been running FS2020 via SteamVR with my Rift S and the frame rate has been a bit pap, to the point that I'd dialled back the visuals so much, that buildings looked like they'd been sprayed onto melted marshmallows.
With the potential move to a Pico4 I ended up getting OpenXR running. The Pico4 didn't work out (a different story), however OpenXR has.
As of today, I've now got:
- DLSS and DLAA running, which helps a bit on the FPS and DLAA seems to do a good job on anti-aliasing
- OpenXR toolkit running fixed foveated rendering. I've never tried this before. Details are here:

My guess is that most G2 users are already rocking with it.
For those not, do give it a try. In short, it reduces image quality/effort on the periphery of your vision. I was really sceptical about the idea when I first read it. Gave it a try yesterday on the "quality", "wide" setting and am quite happy with the compromise as it resulted in a massive increase in FPS, to the point where I've been able to turn up a bunch of the other visuals in FS2020 (and DCS for that matter).
This improvement is what prompted me to finally buy a hi-fidelity aircraft in FS2020 (P38). Made it down to Naples yesterday in my planned round the world jaunt.
