**** Official Microsoft Flight Simulator Thread ****

Can someone link me to a guide so I can just fly the planes in easy mode ! Where nothing odd happens , I just want to go forward and fly and that's it ! I've notice even on easy setting odd things are happening when I'm in the sky ! For example If I am flying and pause the game as soon as I un pause the plane just falls out the sky ! WTF
Just starting flying the helicopters and again this weird error comes up saying Gear box pressure low ! And then falls out the sky ! How do I turn all this stuff off ! I just want to fly in easy mode lol

If you're referring to Live Pause then it appears the aircraft continues to consume fuel while you're paused! Leave it too long and cough cough you fall out of the sky.

There are quite a few Assistance Options that should make life easier; turn off all failures, turn on unlimited fuel and things like auto rudder/mixture. This may not help with the helicopter as it's a 'cheat' as until next month the games doesn't do helicopters.

Ok thats cool , I've got the Hawk T1 but if I pause the game for example and unpause the airplane goes in to a crazy noise dive ! wondered if anyone know why it does this and how to stop it.
 
DLSS seems better on the Fenix after their recent update, wonder if they've managed to do something to mitigate the panel blurring!

Looking forward to SU11 on Friday, intrigued more so by the A310, hoping FBW may look at start dropping some A38X builds.

Live Pause has been problematic since day one.

If you do need to pause, just hit ESC. Click Resume when ready and your aircraft should be exactly as you left it.

Roll on 4pm, SU11/40th Anniversary Edition releases today. Also looking forward to the A310 :D
 
Just completed the SU11/40AE download. Very smooth process so far, just getting the additional updates via the content manager. Looking forward to flying the A310 too. There will be lots to learn.
 
FSR is pretty good - nice and smooth and most things on ultra and usually on 60fps +, london over 40 fps so totally good now

still looks great too

Helicopters a bit wobbly though, think xbox controller not great for those lol

Quick question regarding buying planes in the store, are they cross buy?

If I buy a plane on Xbox, will I have access to it on the PC version as well?

I want to get the Honda Jet, but will only get it if I can definitely have it for both systems.

At 4k Ultra with 4090 - i 7 8700k My max FPS was around 30 FPS MAX
Just upgraded my CPU to i 9 13900k and wow what a difference its made ! Now a constant 60 FPS + so double what I was getting from my old CPU.
Just wanted to make people aware of that because I wasn't expecting it to be such a massive leap and the game runs so nice now.

What Clock speeds were you running the i7-8700k at ?

Yeah, MSFS was the only game where I didn’t really see an improvement at 4k when moving from a 3090 to a 4090. I have a 10700k.

That said with today’s update, DLSS 3 now has me nominally running it at 120fps.

Haven’t had a chance to try it out in detail yet, but seems ok so far - noticed a little bit of ghosting in exterior shots when flying over Tokyo, but otherwise not seeing any significant degradation in the quality.
 
Apparently the terrain LOD slider values have now changed. 200 is now a lot higher than what the previous 200 setting was and thus lowering it to 100 apparantley results in same visuals as 200 did prior to SU11.

Not had time to fiddle with it myself, just reporting what some people on the official forums are saying.
 
For freeware, the A310 is really, really good. It comes with fictional liveries. Some repaints are starting to appear in flightsim.to but for the inibuilds liveries, you need to install iniManager.

DLSS is pretty good, on my mid range gaming laptop it's made Vatsim allot more bearable in bigger busier airports like Heathrow. They're working on a fix for the screen blurring issues as well, however it seems to of gotten better of recent, unsure if the developers like Fenix and PMDG have managed to tweak it.

I gave SmoothTrack and open track a go today, it works really well especially with a 3 monitor setup. I need to tweak it a bit more but it already feels really good. The immersion is astonishing.

I also tried the helicopter discovery flight in NYC. Wow! It’s brilliant, especially with the head tracking!

I'm glad it's working well for you! I can imagine it being really good on a multi-monitor setup, on a single screen it was good, but you had to centre your eyes back on the screen when tilting your head which wasn't great, but still fun, so I can see how turning your head fully and looking at another screen would be amazing!

Give it a go, I think it's still cheap and well worth it if you want that extra bit of immersion
