i wil try a different SFP transiever and see if that will get it to work

SFP+ modules have no mechanism for auto-negotiating the speed. So you must turn auto-negotiation off (I know, why does it have option when it can’t do it!) and set the speed to 1/2.5/5/10Gbps manually. Then it should work.

Any rumblings of something like a hAP ax2 without the Wi-F? I guess it would be a hEX if it happened. Ideally after quad core ARM, 1GB RAM and real PoE input, like an upgraded RB450Gx4. Possibly not going to happen as the SoCs that are used to enable these things to be so cheap have Wi-Fi for free but thought I'd ask.

Good news, did that sort out the sfp issue.
Actually not quite, i need to get a sfp transiever that does 100mb as my printer only does that lmao.

Anyways another qery i have below:

I am trying to setup pihole on my RB5009 mikrotik router using this guide:


However, when i try to access the pihole via http:192./168.88.2:888 it geta 403 forbidden error.

I followed basically every step in that video and the only difference is that my RB5009 router's local IP is 192.168.88.2 instead of the default 192.168.88.1.

the container is running.

The bridge is set to use the veth1.

NAT was added and also DNS set to 172.17.0.2 as per the guide on that video and also on here https://help.mikrotik.com/docs/display/ROS/Container#Container-Summary
 
I use a seperate Pihole 4 8GB 'cus the AX2 doesn't have a usb port, so I can't help in that context. I also use Unbound as a back-end to Pihole as well with the Pi firewalled just to accept dns queries.
 
im unable to start the pihole container. click start and nothing happens in the winbox ui and i even tried doing /container start 0 and no errors etc shows up. However, when type /container print, the pihole container did not start and still in stopped state

eidt: fixed it, i rebooted and started it again and can access it via http://192.168.88.2:888/admin/

However, now my unify controller container cant start.

Cant i start and run two containers?
