oh hey that's a point anyone talented with note blocks?

we need someone to make a device that plays the theme tune :D

I may well be able to do this, so long as you can wait a week or so.

The problem with note blocks is that the only way to make a non-repetitve tune is to have the circuit activated somehow (e.g by a player running across pressure plates). As far as I know that's the case, but if anyone's good with redstone I can do the music part if they wanna sort the delays out :)

Other than that the only solution I can think of would be to have a few 40+ torch pulsers with a series of circuits running off of certain parts of the chain, but this would make it difficult to keep the volume consistent across the whole area.

And it's gonna take a while to even get the materials and find a spot to build it :p

Oh tat wont be a problem we can have it button activated or set off by contestants as they enter :)

yeah gonna wait till 1.8 for better scenery and new blocks


need to start designing rooms and rough layouts(must find structure planner again.)

well each section has ether 6 or 10 rooms.
so if we take each room and if we want to stick to the same layout
and decide what each room will contain.

We also need to agree on a scale for the whole project.
then what we could do is start designing the frame of the build
and work out the rooms from there.

Oh once we have a scale i might try making the crystal dome :D

It might just be easer for you to re-do the LT forum?
I have tested the forum on my one server and it does work as how you wanted it to
I cant see why it is not working on your side for the documents.
All i can think of it a corruption somewhere may be with the permissions file or something.
afraid i am not an expert in that area. Once we get the doc's working again
I will start making some nice instructions for various things in game for players.
I am sure there are a few of us that will happily make up diagrams for player wanting to make stuff with redstone.
hell might even take requests to solve redstone layouts and then post the results.

I could do that but it'd require some dedicated time where I can take things apart and the reinstate the data that is needed (all the admin posts, the whitelist data, the group membership, etc).

All in all I'd end up doing a "clean" install only to then muddy it up with a ton of old data, so it kind of seems like we'd end up exactly where we are now.

If you make the docs you want uploading i'll see if i can put them up for you (you might not be able to edit them though).

sure it;s not somthing at your end as others seem to use them ok (but they are admins :p)

from what I've found with big builds especially if they involve red stone or moving parts is never frame them.


start from the middle (central hub) then work outwards 1 room at a time, that way if a room requires more space than you though or doesn't work you don't have to destroy 2 months of work on other rooms to change it.


oh and i believe the scale i normally work to is ****ing massive and if that;s not big enough do it again :p


tbh what it looks like fro min game is much more important than any scale you devise some times things look better when upsacaled beyond what you though others need to be shrunk.


Remember as it's internal we will build this like a TV set, it only has to look right from one frame of reference as long as a wall looks like it;s part of a cliff built anticent ruin from the perspective players will see it it doesn't matter that in reality the back side of it is a vertical wall of cobble.


Also we can double up areas as players will be easily lost in the corridors so they start in one place move around then come to a place that looks identical but has completely different mechanics to catch them out/so we can have a starting hub + a final chamber.




what i mean is the rooms while all fitting a theme can be pretty randomly spread out on the map connected by themes corridors (with thier required puzzels of course) iplayers wont be able to figure out that that actually the derst room they're in is actually located inside a cobble cube in a snow biome cause they can't see the outside much like a tv set.

Tefal i can upload the doc just cant edit them

@FT yeah i know what you mean. Hopefully it can be sorted and we can get some clean doc's or might do as a work around is to start a doc once all agreed on it make a clean one and repost and have the old doc deleted by an admin?

Just do it in version format other wise.

I.e

Redstone Xor gate explanation V1

if you have to edit go to V1.1 and upload and send me a message and i'll prune the original if i can.
 
What Tefal suggested is fine, or feel free to create a new group for yourself. You can go crazy with document creation in that and then just ask us to move documents to the Minecraft group for you.

ok so i made a group for the crystal maze
thoes that want to help join the project and we can work on the doc's

I will start creating the section doc's in a bit i am just finishing of a system image for a customer

Ok i have created a doc for each section. So comment away and will make changes as they are needed :D

Mob arena is temporarily disabled due to some issues. It should be back in a couple of days.

It may be that Creative isn't compatible with it. What are people's thoughts about removing it (Creative)?
