Could do, although the problem on the Mac surfaced without having changed anything / altered the screen or GUI size.

However, a quick play with the window size on the PC suggests that this might be the most likely culprit. I'll check it once I get home, thanks :)
 
Although much of P3D looks like FSX it's a keeper for me. The better autogen, much less pop up and denser, plus the improvements to memory management, so it doesn't crash as often, were worth the money for me. Add in cloud shadows etc. and it keeps getting better. Oh and they are still improving it ;) I don't do big tin so I'm close to the ground and don't care about PMDG :p

Hi All,

It is with regret that i have to make this post.
I have been trying to find another way to fund the server as i can no longer afford to fund it myself. The server is funded until the end of December at that time the server will no longer be running.

I was going to post this 2 weeks ago but something had come along that may have helped to cover the cost of the server but unfortunately that fell through.

We did try to revive the server mods and update as much as we could and we had a campaign running to bring in new players to try and get donations but there just was not enough interest.

I am sad to say that the server will no longer be running from the end of December. If something changes between now and then i will of course be more than happy to keep the server running. As it would be a shame to loose the community we have here.

I am sorry i have not done much more and could not get events running more often for player to enjoy.

Have you tried things like planet minecraft advertising etc?

Sad to hear this as I'd just got into playing again :(
 
Hey Yrthilian,

Firstly i'd like to say thank you for your continued service towards the OcUK Minecraft community. I've enjoyed my time both as a player and mod of the Vanilla Server, although personally the move to a public server has really brought out some idiots (No current players, just the ones that have been banned and just come on to throw swear words about before leaving).

Without going into details, what sort of running cost both in money terms and personal time terms does the server run at? This isn't something I've considered before today, and maybe that's why the server may be closing because we as players take it for granted. Maybe if we have an idea of the money involved it's something we could all help with?

Just to echo what Dubs has said - I've really enjoyed my time on the vanilla server, and really appreciate the time, effort and financial cost that has gone to running the server, so a big thanks to the admins involved and will be really sorry if the server has to go.

Yrth - would you be prepared to outline the costs and/or time involved? There might be enough players on the van and modded server who would be prepared to contribute a regular amount? I would certainly be willing to dedicate time, if that's needed, and would also be happy to set up a regular payment if it meant the server carried on.

If enough other players voiced similar thoughts and were happy to set up a regular payment/donation to cover the costs, would this be an option?

Any comments from any other van/modded players?

No need to apologise at all Yrth, thank you for your long history of dedication and constant support for this minecraft community. Its a place ive had more fun playing minecraft than any other over the years. Awesome job.

I'd happily give something like a bit a month, I couldn't really give a lot as I'm 16 and not earning but would be happy to help if it was needed
 
Hi Yrth, no need to apologise at all.

The work/time you've put into the server is very much appreciated by all members of the van/mod servers.

Personally I can only apologise that I haven't managed to put any finances towards this (as I intended on)

But with a newborn on the way, ive had to put all my time and monies towards this. But this has levelled off a bit now, and I finally have some spare cash that im willing to put towards keeping this server up :)

Just chuck us a trust if you want to discuss it bud
 
Yrth - can the motd for both the van and modded server be changed to show your post on this thread/a redirect to that post? Some players may play on-line but not check in this thread too much?
