No I reckon he really did mean 1.19v ..

Thats riducously low. I got exact same stepping and its priming at 2.7ghz with 1.376v. Havent tried any lower than that but it was failing at 2.8ghz with these volts. Hopefully clint will post back soon

Am guessing you mean 1.39v. I've just seen a review of the skythe ninja. It was 16degrees cooler than the xp120 under load with the same 120mm fan fitted.
http://hardware.gamershell.com/articles/scythe_ninja_cpu_cooler_review/3.html

Just been priming all day at 2.7ghz at 1.376v. All good so far and hitting 40degrees load.
Be nice to see what a nija can do

That is a very good temp, 40 degrees is very nice :p

My voltage is 1.19volts, and I see 45 degrees on a naked core...so you are much better off than me..

I did this a few days ago:

Will back off the volts and see what happens. Really dont see it being stable though. As these are identical steppings would expect them to clock a lot more similar. Will keep you posted

Did remove the IHS..., temps are down and clock are up:

Ambient 10C

:D

 how did you get your PWMIC temp so low??

V. Jealous!

Edit: amb temp 10degC explains it! lol

Ok I run Prime x2
Seems to be running fine but then when ever I do anything lse, like open task manager to see how long its been running 1 core fails.

Im running 2.6 @ 1.4v (could be my ram, will rum memtest tomorrow)
Sounds like it isn't stable then - this often would happen to me (my RAM was fine). Increasing volts usually helped. :(.

Don't forget if you are running dual prime95 you are stressing your pc @ 100% load so if you start doing other tasks then it may fail!
If i have dual prime95 running and i try and open about 4 things (word,excel,i.e. etc) then mine will fail too, but that doesn't mean it isn't stable, it just means i'm stressing the pc too much.

EDIT: I STAND CORRECTED!! PLEASE STOP REPLYING TO THIS POST! :o :o

Mine idle at 30 degrees and load at 45degrees. I have a 80mm fan blowing onto the heatsinks which helps
I too have a fan blowing over my heatsinks but @ full load (dual prime95) my PWMIC can get upto about 53ºc
maybe 2 fans are better than one!

No teggs, it should be able to process anything without error, even when using other programs - if it can't, then it isn't stable - a reason why I usually do something when it is priming (for about 1 hour of the test).

Fair enough i stand corrected, although i think mine only failed when i tried playing CSS while priming! :p

You should be able to do other tasks while you are priming like taking screenies emails web browsing.

I have even installed a program (screen capture) when priming as i forgot before starting prime and all ran with no errors.

If you are getting errors then you simply do not have a stable system.

agreed :)

@teggs are you just using a fan bracket to cool your PWMIC ?

Hmm, a 15 degrees delta...that calls for a IHS removal.. :p
If you have that big difference I'm quite sure you gonna see great improvments in both lower temp and higher clock.

This has been priming since this morning, ambient is a normal 24 degrees:

I'm not leaving it alone either, all over it doing other things at the same time.. :D
The fan aint spinning that hard either..
Now whattaya say Big.W..?

I wouldnt count that as stable. I was dual priming yesterday and was running cad programs, word, firefox and project igi (old game so not that demanding) at the same time and all went fine. Didnt even see any speed decrease to normal when running these programs either and the cad program uses over 500mb of ram

Just tried at 1.2v. Core 1 falls over at 2.5ghz. Its always core 1 letting me down. Seems stable at 2.75 @ 1.392v but failed 2.8 (core 1 again) @ 1.44v. Shoving it in at 1.456v and so far ok. Hopefully a ninja should help lower my temps a few degrees over the xp120 and let me clock a bit higher
