Forgive me while I cast aside any and all journalistic integrity and dance like a giddy fanboy. I just watched the PlanetSide 2 CGI trailer, the one with the one-man jet pack wrecking crew taking out an entire Galaxy troop transport ship, and it's got this Vanu Sovereignty veteran jonesing for PS2. According to Sony Online Entertainment President John Smedley, my wait will end soon. The PlanetSide 2 beta is set to kick-off on Monday or Tuesday.

Posting on Twitter, Smedley announced the beta will begin in days "barring any unforseen circumstances." Beta invites will first go out to veterans of the original PlanetSide before being sent out in stages to everyone else who registered.

To borrow a phrase from Bart Scott, CAN'T WAIT.

A sunderer can carry 12 people, so can a galaxy. Get 200 of those rolling around that's 2000 easily enough.

Worried about their crunchtime though, better to have the basic stuff working, would rather not have another Battlefield were things are soo broke if they try to fix it, they break everything else.

Lets just supposedly say that the game was pretty busy last night, and if that supposedly is the case it supposedly ran very very smooth
