**Official Portal 2 thread**

only problem with amazon prime you can only use it once, then they charge you a membership subscription

Well yeah. You have to pay for it. But you get a years worth of free deliveries on all orders, regardless of how much the order is for and you can use it as many times as you like.

I've been using it for 3 or 4 years now. Definetely worth the money if you use Amazon a lot.

Well £30 for 5 hours of game play was worth it for me, I love Portal and the story, comedy and entertainment is excellent. Could have been a little longer and some ofthe puzzles were a bit easy but hey! Just need to find another victim now to go multi player with!

Hmmmm steam counter said 6 hours when I exited last night after my first sitting. It couldn't have been quite that long (could it?) - I ate dinner and everything. I'm just starting Chapter 3 though, so looks like I'm gonna take ages. It is mainly because I did the first few chambers at least three times, as my session was interrupted (wife :)) and instead of saving I decided just to start again cos it's all so awesome!:) I'm spending a lot of time just looking around gawping at the environment in amazement. The depiction of the decay is fantastic with the sagging corroded metal structures and aged textures - really convincing. Urban exploration pornography! I can't believe some people complaining about the source engine - this tweaked version is used to stunning effect which is all that really matters. OK textures are pretty low res it has to be said, but that only matters if you're pixel peeping instead of playing the game. Loving Wheatley and Glados, and Chell is looking good despite Glados' fat jokes :) :). Best game I've played in a loooooong time. Just finished Mass Effect 2 which was also excellent and took up 100 hours of my life, but this is just better in every way, and if it only lasts 10 hours I dont care and certainly wouldn't consider it poor value.

And i dont know how anyone can do this game in around 6 hours or less on first play without cheating, rushing like mad, or googling how to do areas. Dont care what they say, they're a lier and it's just for there e-peen, when in reality they just look like a stupid immature kid to everyone else.

WOAH. Calm down. Portal 2, without 'cheating' (by which I guess you mean looking up the solutions), took me 7 hours.

I had a great time, spent a lot of time deliberating on puzzles and enjoyed myself. It really isn't about peen, some people's minds can puzzle-solve quicker than others, simple as that.

What makes someone look like a stupid immature kid is calling someone a liar just because they did something you don't think is possible.

Side note: (trying not to give anything away) The end, did you work it out right away? What you had to do? Now I think about it the clue is pretty obvious, but I can imagine that if you didn't get it right away, you probably wouldn't get it until you looked it up.

Lol... frustrated much? Took me 5 hours without cheating on first play through and I didn't "rush like mad". The only person who looks like a stupid immature kid is you for that pathetic, envy ridden outburst.

The reason that people are getting through the game so "fast" (not me, took me about 10 hours) is that there aren't an army of bad guys trying to kill you, no rush of aliens with plasma rifles or koreans with machine guns getting the better of you and making you play through a tricky area time after time after time.

With Portal2 you just go right through, everything is straight forward, it's not till the later levels that things get overly complex. Just the right balance of wandering around enjoying the scenery and brain teasers.

Have to go back through with the comentary on, then again with the kids watching, got both of them singing "still alive" a couple of weeks ago, wife is well impressed with me :D

i would like a few more pressure/timed rooms.

but I understand they're removed as they're not enjoyable/accessible for most people and mroe casual people.

still some nice relatively simple challenges done while escaping crushers or gas or timing to avoid crushers etc would be nice.

Just been watching the E3 demo and there were some parts in that weren't in the actual game. Like the Pneumatic Diversity Vents and this at 2:50

I realise that was just a demo though.

Anyway, I still need a co-op buddy...

I'm not sure how far through I am - probably only around half way. It's quite fun but the novelty of the original Portal game has worn off somewhat.

It's really not helped my the insane migraines that it seems to cause for me. My brain/eyes suck sometimes for FPS :/

the red gell at 2.50 is in the game

what is annoying though is a lot of the levels in that demo look awesome an better than what's in the game. but require twitch and timing based play which has been cut cause of the casual side.

Those levels look like a lot of fun, pity they didn't make the final cut. Hopefully the mod community will come to the rescue.

I know the gel is in but I mean the actual obstacles. Also for the repulsion gel demo in part 2, that part of the level is in but obviously has different textures and a few additions ;) Can't say more than that though.

Well just finished, what a bloody brilliant game, took me just under 6 hours and that included getting completely stuck on 2 puzzles for about 10 minutes each.

Now on to co-op.
