Gameplay is fantastic and the story is good so far. I know people have been stung (myself included) with performance of recent releases but the reason it's performing well at max settings is that it is fairly weak graphically (muddy low res textures, average lighting engine not much in the way of additional post-processing effects such as particles etc.). I suspect if I ran some of the recent games at settings equivalent to the fidelity in Prey i'd be knocking out fairly good fps figures. Anway aside from the average graphics everything else is very good so far!

Thought I'd give it a quick run before I head into work, for some reason my monitor keeps going to sleep after a few seconds when the game is running. Alt tab back to Windows and everything is fine. Don't have time to look at it now, will have to investigate when I get home later tonight. Running latest drivers, 385.05 clean install.

Thoughts guys? Worth a buy?
Latest drivers the game runs sweet for me. With everything maxed out I get between 60-75fps at 4K. So with your superior GPU and inferior monitor you should be getting close to doube that Gregster my boy! :D

The game it self is very good so far. Well worth the money. Exactly the type of game I like to play. Go buy it, you won't regret it! :)

Personally I wish there were more games like this and less games like Battlefield and COD etc.

i think the graphics are nice looks decent on a x34 the animations etc are top notch
Yea. Not bleeding edge graphics, but more than good enough.

So far I am really enjoying it. It could end being my game PC game of the year from what I have seen so far :)

Cheers bud and LOL at the inferior monitor quip :D

I liked old Pray and would love to play new one but will not for a simple reason. Bethesda had file a law suit against No Matter Studios for naming there game Prey for the Gods. Bethesda makes some good game not amazing lets not kidde ourself but the practices the have is worst the Nintendo and I will not be paying them any money.... Link here.

That's business for you! Companies are becoming increasingly protective of their intellectual properties, and Bethesda are no exception! Boycotting a release because of some misguided moral principle is a redundant effort! You can bet your bottom dollar that the developers behind the games you play are impartial when it comes to the use of underhanded tactics!

I bet this has been great publicity for Prey for the Gods too. I hadn't heard of it before this and neither had a lot of people I imagine.

Hope I am OK to post this here - Prey runs fairly well on a GTX1080 and loving the game so far. Video showing performance from my rig with the latest NVidia 382.05 drivers - on an i7 5820k (OC to 4.3 GHz) and a GTX1080:

Needless to say this will spoil the first 15 minutes or so of the game for anyone whom hasn't played it yet :(

IP law is a far more complex area than I care to get involved in. However, from what I understand you have to constantly prove that you are actively protecting your IP for it not to lapse which may be why (again I'm not an expert) they go after these frivolous lawsuits in the gaming space, they aren't the first (Disney, EA, Activision etc) and won't be the last.

Well do to you for showing morals.
My copy of Prey is downloading now.
