Official Prey thread

i disagree. in fact i don't think i've ever read a review on gamespot that i didn't completely agree with.

it's mainly the MMORPG reviews which I don't agree with. It's probably because they dont have months to play the games though

I would quite like to get this game soon but feel i have to wait until its under £20 as it seems a bit on the short side, i usually like about 20+ hours of game play and these days unless a game is something special or good and under £20 i just have to wait. :(

that's hinting enough. no need. let's keep it on discussion about the game, not about it's price and where you can get it from

honestly from the demo i was mainly worried about 2 things, the weapons seem incredibly dull and also i was very very worried that despite prettyness it might end up just as stupidly dull as D3. lots of boring corridoors that were dark, lots of same corridoors and upside down walkways that are all way to similar. why can't people get that variety is the spice of life, its why thats a saying, because the same thing over and over again is crappy. like once twice having to change mavity to get through an area is fun and interesting and new. doing it in every 3rd room you hit becomes a boring tiresome chore.

Yeh guys keep this clean from competitor hinting and any dodgey information, is not hard to.

If people want the info they can find it for themselves, not hard at all if you were able to find it. Simple rules to follow.

To keep this thread clean and avoid it being shut please can we keep it to discussion about the game itself. Please do not post about it's price or where you have ordered it from at all as it will only lead to problems, competitor talk / hinting and ultimately the thread being removed which i'm sure no one wants. So no talk about the price of it please

i just wanna play it for the pretty graphics!!! man i still aint completed fear and now this game comes out :)

Did others have problems with V-sync in the demo? Its made me hesitant to buy the full version - there seemed no way to turn it on (despite being forced on in the nvidia panel).

Be interested to hear whether its fixed for the final release.

I was like that a while ago, but I get bored quite easily with such games, I still haven't finished DoomIII, Far Cry and Quake4.

It is fine at the beginning but later on I just can't be bothered to play anymore :(

Gameplay > Graphics everytime.

There is a reson why I still enjoy playing any game made on the Infinity engine, the worst of them beats the best of the graphical RPG's bar three exceptions.

A reminder for those of you who want to have Prey the minute the game is available, you can use the TritonPC Player to preload your Prey download and be ready to roll when the clock strikes midnight tonight. Word is: "Pre-ordering is now available through the Triton Player for $49.95 by clicking the "Preload Prey" box. By pre-ordering you will be able to start playing Prey within minutes of the release at 12:01 a.m. on 7/11/2006. In a little over a week you will be able to start pre-loading Prey so that there will be no wait once the clock strikes midnight."

FYI, the first review of the game can be found on ShackNews. There are some minor spoilers for those who haven't played the demo though.

Prey is a game that will get you tons of bang for your buck. It's like I said, game fans: FPS titles have felt stale for quite a while now. It's time for something to remind us why this genre is one of the best in gaming, and Prey does that and more. You'll be reminded of your first time playing the all time greats (Wolf3D, Doom, Duke3D, Quake, Half-Life) due to the fact that Prey doesn't just feel like something that has come before; it's a trend setter, and a worthy addition to any gamer's library.

I know little about Triton, but I'm guessing it's just a Steam clone, and also guessing you'll have to pay VAT on top of the $50, so will probably turn out too much of a hassle, when you'll probably be able to play it tomorrow if you've got a preorder shipped now.

Well it should be delivered first thing tomorrow morning. I can't wait!
Hope it rains :D

Mods, I don't understand why we don't just have a new thread for when people actually have the game. Rather than start at page 5 of one of these types of threads.
