!!**Official RAGE Thread**!!

Just my thoughts.

Fortunately I haven't run into a single graphical problem in terms of popping or the likes for which I am rather glad, otherwise I would have sent this game straight back.

I am completely baffled as to the extremes within this game, at one end there are some fantastic looking visuals that really immerse you within the world but then on the other hand there are large parts of the game that look as if it had been drawn by a child with crayons. The continuity of visual quality is poor at best, which for me, really took from the game, and didn't keep me interested. The video quality certainly does not warrant the huge ~22GB game size.

The storyline is a slapdash and certainly felt very linear, there was little or nothing you could do that would influence the general story line. There were a nice selection of side quests / mini-games that will keep you interested for a couple of hours. The total time for campaign completion was 24 hours on hard - this included side quests and mini-games.

I think id tried too hard to combine elements of FPS' and sandbox RPG's, neither of which genre seems to take prominence. I certainly felt disappointed with how the campaign ended and can tell you for sure I won't be playing this again. Definitely not what I was expecting from this game, or id for the matter.

Verdict: 5/10
Worth the money? Current prices, no. Perhaps when it hits the £10-15 mark then yes.

Remember, just my opinion :)

Oh ffs. NO, I will not go back to the Dead City again. I am enjoying the game a bit but i am struggling. If they send me back to the shrouded bunker again for the hundredth time i don't think i can take it.

This is the most repetitive game i have played since DA2.

It is distressing how often you have to visit the same areas multiple times with more or less the same mission to kill the mysteriously respawned monsters.

Ok some are sidequests but that's still no excuse to make a lame mission.

Tried to play this tonight and the game was freezing every six seconds or so for maybe half a second  It's been fine up to now.

Have you tried deleting the files in the \user\appdata\id software\rage\??

There is one about 1gb and another small one, delete both - they come back.

I read a few days back that someone had problems with the game stuttering unless he deleted those files before he played. Worth a shot?

I got the game last night off steam and I find it runs really really well.

It complained I had outdated drivers when I tried to launch it but I have the latest WHQL from Nvidia.

2600k Stock
8GB ram
GTX 470 stock
Res 2560x1400

Game settings
x4 AA
AF High
Transcoding ON
Texture Cache Large

Drivers : 280.26

I didn't suffer from any texture loading issues and the game was spitting out a high fps, so much so I was getting constant screen tearing until I popped on Vsync.

The gun play in the game is amazing, that's id for you.

I've not had much game time though, just 2 hours.

Anyone other than me have this problem:

The game runs smooth no problems untill you get on the quad at the start then it;s slow as hell, I then change the AA then revert it back and it's fine untill I get on the bike again, I'm only right at the start but still it's the only time it slows down, "may have to walk everywhere" lol

I cannot even get past the first main race so as to arm the buggy before the game crashes out!

Going to walk away from this game until ID release a new patch and AMD release new drivers. :(
