!!**Official RAGE Thread**!!

Wacked in a Quad Core yesterday and its super smooth now, really didnt like the Dual core setup at all, ah well i was due a small upgrade anyway lol. 11.10 drivers and no config tweaks and only FOV and skip intro command lines in steam - Solid 60fps, texture popin is still there but less noticable now it runs smoothly.

+jobs_numThreads 0 <----- What does this command do?

Without it I get BSOD and a reboot :(

Running a I7 and ati 5870.

How many extra threads are spawned for gameworld processing - instinct says it should work best 1 lower than the number of physical CPU cores you have but it seems to work best so far when set to 2 lower. If your having problems with a 4+ core PC with higher numbers than 0 its possibly an indication that the CPU isn't 100% stable as it would be making a larger area of the CPU work harder when enabled or it could just be yet another incompatibility with RAGE and current AMD drivers.

Bah, missing 1 vehicle jump and I've no idea where it is, about 15 cards and I forgot to do the last couple of races and now the Authority have 'banned' racing so I can't finish them off ><

Ending was a little short lived. Authority Pulse Cannon, combining the Plasma Rifle and BFG so you could just plough through enemies. The reload is really irritating though. You fire a BFG and want to swap back to pulse ammo but it will always reload another BFG first before you can swap and the animation isn't exactly short.

According to steam I've taken 15 hours, according to the game its taken me 12 hours...

Just started playing this last night. I have:
Q6600 @ 3.6
470GTX
4GB RAM

With the game set to:
1920x1200
High Anisotropic Filtering
8xAA
Quadcode enabled (I think that is the name, the last option)

The game runs at constant 60fps (checked with Afterburner FPS enabled). Most of the environment looks great, so it's really jarring when you run into an awful HL1 texture.

Steam quotes times from the min you press play. So all the time flaffing with settings and pausing it etc.
In-game time generally is real-time played in game and not in menus or pausing. :)

Interesting I don't have the last option:confused:

This game makes me think of Wall Street 2

“What is the definition of insanity? Doing the same thing over and over again and expecting a different result."

That is me trying to get this ****ing game to work!!!
