!!**Official RAGE Thread**!!

I just installed Rage this evening, so far it seems to be a fairly solid shooter but nothing amazing.

I'm getting none of the texture pop in or corruption issues that I've seen mentioned (possibly because I'm playing post AMD driver update and patch) but there's definitely something wrong.

Every now and again I'm able to see seams joining the textures as white lines. This makes the game feel like a patchwork quilt. Has anyone else seen this or heard of a solution?

For everyone complaining about texture quality I see what you mean. However, the quality of the scenery and vistas are great. Be honest, do you spend more of your time playing the game and taking in the big picture or walking about with your nose pressed against walls or staring at the floor?

Not the same tiles and you're not that close to the wall.

Are you sure you don't want him to scope up at point blank range while he's at it...

Some people here just like jerking off over the graphics I'm afraid. :p Some people aren't even aware there is a game.

From what I've seen in the thread, most of us play the game but a few others spend their time glued to the walls, usually combined with taking screen shots and then whining about the texture quality.

Yeah that's not a problem when outside in your buggy, in the city areas you can't help but notice the low quality.

You missed the bit where they then rush the game ignoring everything (but low res textures) so the game is 'short'.

Hey guys, I enable vsync ingame and save the setting. If however I alt-tab the game to my desktop and then go back to the game, vsych is off again. Perhaps I'd be better putting the command in my rageconfig.cfg, but what would the command be?

Just finished it this evening. Was ok - I definitely preferred Borderlands.
Would have been nice if the side quests contributed more to the main quest - upgraded weapons/armour more.

15 hours played so far, just finished first mission in the subway, died about 3 times in the game so far. Still got rest of races, missions and job board in this area before I've finished the game. Then there's always a replay on hardest difficulty.

Wait...people don't start games on Nightmare if it's available?

I've alwats been one to dive straight into the most difficult option they have.

Although that didn't work out too well in the Witcher 2 hahaha.

I noticed this last night, hadnt noticed the texture pop up either till I got to the bit where you set off fireworks for some dude.

Textures sometimes look brilliant other times abysmal.

Running 6950 (modded) in CF with the v2 beta drivers and the latest patch and the performance is great, really smooth. Just a shame about the stuff mentioned previously. Its a decent game, reminds me a bit of Riddick - go round, talk to people, go get em something killing things on way. repeat with driving bits sandwiched in middle

I started on hard but kind of regret it. The game was extremely easy as far as I played (admittedly not that far due to motion sickness).

Given what the difficulty 'Nightmare' means on Doom I figured that might be a little suicidal for a first play. Doesn't compare to it though.

Yeah. This was my reasoning too.

Games have gotten easier I think.

I tried it on Nightmare and it felt like playin on Medium to me personally.

I would have liked if the AI was smarter for it, although it just means they hit a tad harder and you have to hit some folks twice in the face with a sniper rifle to kill them.

Although I feel like a member of SG1 emptying nearly a clip of the SMG into an Athourity member to take him down hahaha. It's like shooting a Jaffa warrior from season 1-3. :D

I'm enjoying the game though.

Shooting enemies in the face 5 times with a shotgun before they die doesn't make a game fun to play. If I'm some kind of badass super soldier with weapons of mass destruction, then I want to feel like one.
