!!**Official RAGE Thread**!!

Couple of guides/fixes:

Config File Location

~\Steam\steamapps\common\rage\base\default.cfg

Enabling Console

In Steam launch options add +set com_allowconsole 1

Change FoV

Add the following line to the default.cfg file:

set g_fov 15

The above will add the number to 80 to produce the final fov. 80 + 15 = 95 fov.

Disable Mouse Accel

Add the following line to the default.cfg file:

set m_smooth 0

Texture Caching Issues

Cba summarising it :p

Nvidia Card Issues

Disabling texture streaming in the graphics options can help if you're having artifacts and/or broken textures.

ATI Card Issues

Some are reporting that the 11.8 cats have the least issues with the game. Could be worth using until we get some new drivers.

This why why I am glad I skipped this. Who cares how pretty it is (if your not having issues with the GPU transcoding most in the US are!):

"So, just to sum up my nine plus hours with the game so far:
•No story to speak of
•No characters that make an impression
•Linear
•Broken save system
•Dull mechanics
•Tedious quests
•Weak shooting
•Stock weapons
•Racing is fun
•Minigames are enjoyable
•Very pretty"

how pretty a game looks, brings you into a game.

i wouldn't want to play the latest shoot up in a 4 walled room with no outside skybox!

So cmon guys is it any good? graphically it looks stunning from vids i have seen but is it worth £30?

I'll probably be giving it a try after work via VPN.

The main issues at the moment seem to be the technical ones. These are kind of deal breakers if they are a problem for you. The actual game itself is getting relatively positive feedback for the most part.

agree the gameplay is solid not great thou main issues with the game aren't deal breakers for me.

woow look at some of these textures, http://forums.steampowered.com/forums/showthread.php?t=2154243&page=2

they look like pre-2005 grpahics. hope that's not pc version, looks a lot like console.

Some people just ignore me :(

The reason the recommendations are so low is because the textures are downsized/compressed a lot because of consoles. They couldn't do consoles and pc's seperately so console took priority. We was going to have much higher details but they couldn't do it.

:(

Well, mixed reviews then. Certainly waiting a little while before making a choice on this one.
