Guys, I play with the arrow keys and always use "enter" for use in all games anyone know how I can bind this key ?

also gun zoom toggle would be handy ?

how long does it take to decrypt? been at it 30 mins only 32% done. If i'd known i would have started it before i went to work!

been playing this this morning, looks a great game, but was getting loads of flickers when driving, purple lines when enter/exit maps.
found this on another forum & tryed it. made massive diff for me.
may help some of you till proper fix comes along :)

make txt file & name it "rageConfig.cfg" when made put it into your base folder.
paste this into file.
Also force V sync to on is g cards settings

Why did you turn Vsync on if it's a solid 60fps? There is no tearing if your system can maintain a constant 60.

That doesn't make what you said true. Look up what vsync does.

The fact that Rage internally limits the FPS to 60 makes no odds. Vsync provides an extra buffer to the graphics output to help ensure that the image doesn't change during a screen refresh.
Can confirm this to be true in my case at least. Despite the game already being locked at 60, vsync off = horrendous tearing / vsync on = no tearing.

Although forcing vsync at driver level also introduced some pretty regular micro stutter for me. Until it's sorted through driver updates that's how I'm playing it as I actually find it less jarring than having the screen tear everytime I move an inch.
 
On the whole it looks great and plays fine (though I've only just got back after the first mission). But the FoV is too narrow and the loading textures at the sides of the screens, even if its just for a moment, started to hurt my eyes after a while.
 
enable the console add on the shortcut "exec RageConfig.cfg" and see if it helps force the config the load.

i know you can do it from the console but if you have the console activated all achievements are disabled.

i can tlel 8k textures work for me because if i move the camera around quick i dont get texture popups like i do without 8k textures

Managed to enable the console via the game launch options in Steam, exec'd the config from the console, and checked the values. Despite being set to 8192 in the config, it listed everything as being set at 4096.

Manually set all the values via the console and confirmed they'd changed, then did a vt_restart. Nothing. Still looks absolutely identical. It's as if something is overriding everything I try.

That config file actually gets my game moving, albeit at 12fps, but its a step in the right direction - Still my CPU is at 100%, GPU at 0% and the priortiy of the Rage.exe in task manager is setting itself to Low all the time..arrghh.

Must admit; i am getting pretty sick and tired of having to change config files on release of a PC game lately. Some basic stuff it just missing.

I have nothing but respoect for Carmack & co, but really they have let themselves down with this engine. It should not have been released as it was. imo.
 
What is it with games being released half finished lately?

My brother's been playing it for a bit this morning. He's tried the Steam launch 'fix', and it did nothing. I tried forcing v sync for Steam, and in global settings in the control panel, and still nothing. I'm going to try creating a Rage.exe executable in the programs list, and force v sync on that, and then pray it works.

Not like we can even blame this on lazy PC porting, because his girlfriend bought the PS3 version, and there are problems there too.
 
I've pre-loaded mine the other day and planned to play over the weekend as one of the games to tide me over until SW:TOR - then I got a beta invite for SW:TOR so now my weekend will consist of playing that!

Kind of glad because judging by some of the issues here ill have all the fixes ready when I do play it! :)

So... question; how open world is it exactly? Like Borderlands, or more restrictive?
