!!**Official RAGE Thread**!!

Aren't you better off disabling the 2nd monitor anyway to help with performance. Winkey-P is your friend ;)

Sigh... looks like another borked console port. Really glad I didn't buy this yesterday, would've been my first time paying full price for a game since New Vegas. The poor graphics and number of bugs seem to be about on par with NV anyway though I guess.

i have a 27inch tv hooked up to my comp, i watch films n **** on it. But anytime i try loading rage it loads on the tv ????? never happened with any other game. Anyone know a fix for that ? :<

You could always try looking in the first place that you would think of - the options menu within Rage.

You can choose the monitor it runs on in there.

managed to get it playable..just need to work on the fps now.

Just had an hour or so on it and really enjoyed it.

Even with the 8k texture config though, close up, things can look pretty bad, but step back and take in the whole scene, and it can look very nice indeed.

Running on a SoC GTX480, and it's solid at 60fps with 8xAA. I thought I was going to get away with running 16x, but at points it would hit the framerate really hard. Dropped it back to 8x and it's spot on.

<edit> Hmmm - after looking at some screenshots, I took 2 of my own, one with the 8k config, and one without. They're absolutely identical. Config file is in the base folder and named correctly (i just double checked)..

well with a e8400 at 3.8 and 5850..this thing crawls. 15-20fps. thats at 1920x1200.

With the 11.9 and Rage driver I get a solid 55-60fps with my 5850.

Rest of the system is Phenom II x3 @3.5Ghz, 4GB, Win XP.

I get ~30 fps with the 11.8 and NO rage driver but less crashes, less glitches and less artefacts.

So for me it's either instability and speed or 'console pace' and few issues i.e. you can't have everything, it's either one or the other.

Now that's a real shame, I was hoping to snag this for seem weekend play but with just a 4890 (e8400) and clearly some serious driver result anomalies I think I'll pass for a few weeks till it all settles down.

Shame.

Damnit didn't realise Rage was available from midnight ><

Oh well, gotta go shopping first anyway... and figure out why my Steam icon keeps breaking on the taskbar if I pin it.

By default it launches in another monitor if you have more than 1 monitor, just change it in the video options if that's the case in game!

enable the console add on the shortcut "exec RageConfig.cfg" and see if it helps force the config the load.

i know you can do it from the console but if you have the console activated all achievements are disabled.

i can tlel 8k textures work for me because if i move the camera around quick i dont get texture popups like i do without 8k textures

Running at a solid 60fps here (according to fraps)

1920*1200, 4xAA, 8K config and gpu transcode enabled.

Phenom II 1055t, 8Gb RAM, GTX 570 all at stock.

Only problems I had was the default profile had vsync set to forced off so I switched it to forced on and the mouse sensitivity was far too high. Also getting some slight motion sickness but not HL2 or Borderlands level so far.
