other than that Nvidia/Ati are going to put out some new drivers, but when?

AMD have released two drivers this week, one doubled my framerate and the second released today removed all graphical glitches and appears to have improved texture quality whilst maintaining a near solid 60fps.

Same here, I am now running a solid 60 FPS indoor and outdoor on my old 5850 2GB.

Great for you AMD/ATI guys to finally get some fixes. I'm going to watch the Nvidia website like a Hawk.

Not got my FPS constant but removed screen tearing, texture pop in still prominent enough to **** me off :p.
 
How do you know if these rageconfig.cfg in the base folder are actually being used?

I've tried a few now and the game looks the same and is no more taxing on my card. I even tried changing the 8k texture values to 16k.

I have to say that I've not encountered any problems other than very minor texture pop in on the odd object. I have an i7 920 and a GTX 470 and I'm only getting 30% CPU usage and about 40% GPU usuage. The game looks superb, but the closer you get to any texture the worse it looks.
 
Just installed the new driver (ati version 2) and now Rage won't start at all :( wtf!

Going to try a re-install see if that helps.

*EDIT* Reinstall didn't work. game still crashes on launch. So the new drivers are no good to me :(

Edit default.cfg scroll to the very bottom then add a new line with "exec myconfigfile.cfg"

This will load your config file after it has finished loading all the other configs.
 
omg that game u do when u get the contract is ****ing amazing! i love this game so much runs awesome on my 5870!

I have the same configuration but in the launch options. You can still see in your screen-shots the low resolution textures that myself and others have reported. Hopefully with those fixed soon we can get the real visual treat of this game because the game play is very good so far in.
 
There a fair few areas of low res texturing up close, the game is 21gigs as it is plus the price you pay for the devs keeping console performance in mind. Given the overall level of detail I find it far easier to live with than I would with low res textures in other games - not even sure its right to call them textures really as its more a canvas the way its implemented.
 
To be fair though, getting a PC game right is very hard, and when so many people pirate PC games and those that actually pay for them on PC are dwarfed by console sales it's not hard to see why developers don't seem to be bothering :(

Oh i agree i know if iwas a dev id have more success on the consol market so id aim for that too but its just a massive shame :(
 
Carmack coming across as a tool in his latest interview, going down the same road as unreal, forgetting their roots.

Dont think its forgetting there roots exactly market has changed PC gaming is not what i was anymore, PS3/X360 easier to devlop for less piracy and tbh some amazing games on there visually but due to there tech there now hindering PC even more with them being out dated and PC now even further ahead tech wise.


I think Starcraft2 was the last true PC game and that wasnt mind blowing GFX wise but had a very nice visual style and was awesome fun online, Ill go back to what i said earlier all devs for pc have become lazy they know full well PC wont selll as well so bodge it.

I agree. Why would any company in any industry "stick to their roots" in an industry that's completely changed since it was founded, just to appease a few hardcore fans? It's a recipe for going under.

Anyone else getting this?

I'm running i7 2600k overclocked to 4.5ghz
8gb 1600mhz ram
SLI GTX580s overclocked to 950mhz

Now I've done the popular config file and ran it in both SLI and a single card but the FPS are all over the place.

I can lock it to 60fps but when I get in a car it drops to 30ish. No consistency at all.
