!!**Official RAGE Thread**!!

Most of the issues seem to be suprise suprise AMD not having upto scratch drivers.

With a couple of tweaks and using my 2nd GTX470 dedicated to CUDA transcode I've almost (but not entirely) eliminated LOD popin and it rarely drops below 60fps with ~33% average GPU useage on my main GPU.

Ey? So you've had to tweak your Nvidia drivers to work with Rage, just like I've had to tweak my ATi drivers to work.... yet, your logic is that this means AMD's drivers are not up to scratch yet Nvidia's are? BOTH camps need to sort their drivers out.

Not to mention problems with certain Intel processors yet no reported issues with AMD.

Nope didn't need to tweak anything driver wise to get it working fine out the box. But there was a little more texture popin than I liked (not a driver issue) I tweaked the rageconfig file a bit to reduce the texture popin.

Oh look the nvidia defense league is back posting..

Any problems for me were sorted when the updated driver came online. I'm playing at full eyefinity res on a single card. Oh the drama of these drivers.....Clearly they need to focus a ton on OpenGL seeing as the Market is literally flooded with OpenGL games, oh wait....

You'd have thought they'd have stayed on top of compatibility for a major game release thats been coming for awhile..... oh wait...

The only drivers i have had working with this game are the 1st release. the new ones (release 2) are useless as the game wont even load with them installed. And even if i use release 1, the game will play but i cant get out of the constant crashing it does when transitioning to a new area. So for now it's pointless for me to even attempt to play this anymore. Shame as it looked a good game, bugs aside. but between the crashes and the driver fail's im done with it till a patch comes out to make it what it should have been before release.

and yes, this is the only game this happens with........so not at all impressed.

They did, it was human error that the wrong driver was uploaded. Or is this "news" to you mr current events?

You can do +jobs_numthreads 1 in steam startup thingy or in shortcut or add the line seta jobs_numthreads 1 to rageconfig.cfg - try playing with values from 1 to 4 tho at a guess it gives best results when used at a value one less than the number of physical cores in your system.

I found using a m&kb far to sensitive and made the game look and feel really laggy even with the mouse sensitivty turned all the way down, so i tried my xbox controller and while it aint as fast or as accurate as a mouse it has made it feel and look a whole lot smoother.

Thanks ill give it a shot later and see if it helps.
On a side note, now that I can see the game running for myself, its not that bad, looks like a game I can get into.

Anyone else using dolby digital live with their sound card? It works with every modern game I've played the past few years but Rage isn't having any of it. I had to dig out the analog 3.5mm cables to play in 5.1.

rushed through without doing side missions? or is that with all side mission content?

The only way I can see it.

I've got nearly 7 hours on the clock and still got a ton of "Campaign" achievements locked. Not even touched the co-op. Each to their own, but I've went past the point of getting enough enjoyment out to cover the cost a while back. :p

Not had any problems with it. :( Using an XFI Titanium.

Is this game I'll likely want to play in coop mode? Is it suited equally to sp and coop play?

Eg in dead island I don't play coop with randoms, but with rage I'd try and convince a mate to get it and play with me.

Co-op is more like COD Spec Ops. You've got a SP campaign, then missions out of it redone specifically for co-op.
