!!**Official RAGE Thread**!!

Cool cant wait, unable to play in sli, but works with 1 card. But im still getting some texture issues even after doing all the workarounds. And a few game crashes. Damn you id, why didnt you test this.

Apart from the texture popping, the game runs perfectly fine for me, so long as I'm using the rage driver and I force vsync in CCC to eliminate tearing. I don't see where AMD have faulted. All the issues are because id couldn't be bothered to implement proper in game graphics settings.

Completely forgot about Vigilante 8. Was a great game. The driving is a bit like it yeah, the Minigun is really bad though, its all about Rockets (since a direct hit with both rockets is instakill).

The 2nd mini gun you get is ok bit more powerful at least. Need to get some more unlocks and see what else I can get :D

And yes Vigilante 8 was great use to love that game.

Set CUDA to run on the 2nd card from the nVidia control panel and enable CUDA transcoding in the game, seems to cut down popin quite a lot for me and makes goodish use of the 2nd card. So far I've been getting 60fps solid with 8K pages and only 30-40% GPU useage so SLI isn't really needed.

The second set of preview drivers has helped a lot for me. The texture popping is still there but the only other issue I have had is halfway through the hotel at the beginning. Game would freeze up for a few seconds then move, then freeze. Just had to plough through.

Few screenshots using a GTX260. Seems to play OK for me, so far.

I've only done the first mission, spent loads of time looking around seeing what I could play with :)

So like Painkiller.. Can you "Bunnyhop" whilst running about?.. that was one of my favourite parts of painkiller, seeing how fast i could go whilst popping people with stakes and shotguns!

Is this game in a fit state to play or should I hold off for patches and driver updates?

Just saw this.

Found this interesting:

When VSync is turned OFF you may experience screen tearing.

"When VSync is turned ON you should not see screen tearing. However,
any time your frame rate drops below 60 frames per second you will
get a sudden more severe drop to 30 frames per second.
This is how VSync
inherently works. If your computer cannot maintain 60 frames per
second and you miss the synchronization to the vertical retrace of
your monitor then you will miss a whole frame and synchronize to
the next frame instead."

Is this the case with all games or just Rage?

I thought Vsync, just capped the fps to 60fps, not potentially cause lag in its self....
