!!**Official RAGE Thread**!!

Is mutant bash TV the same every round? I've just done 3 consecutive rounds (not including the one where you have to earn his sponsorship) and they were all the same :/

AFAIK it is which kinda sucks :( the only reason to go back other than the money is that a couple of secrets unlock after the first time you complete it.

Just bought this over the weekend but I've noticed a few clitches already.

I noticed as soon as I left the vault, when looking around outside on the ledge the draw/texture loads are notably delayed and there appears to be a white flicker??

@1920 fullscreen, I've turned the AF to Low and caching on, AA on 4x. Vsync is on (it's worse when off).

system is [email protected], 5870, SSD, 4GB 800Mhz RAM, Win7-64, Latest Cat drivers.

I thought this might be more than adequate for this game with higher AA/AF.

Although the draw rate is better I still get this white flicker.

I was wondering if any one else has similar issues?

edit - sorry if this has been asked before btw

Do you have cat 11.9 drivers? As they are kinda broken for RAGE. You need to get one of the 11.10 preview drivers, there is 3 of them, i found preview 2 to be the best, at least for me, i use a 5770. Official ones come out on the 31st.

I'm 19 hours in now, and still have a few main missions and side missions to do, who ever said this game is short has clearly rushed it for what ever reason...

Ok 2 questions

1. Did anybody find any really well hidden side missions the rest of us might miss? The only ones I can offer up are the various sewer grates, the missions on the jobs board and the courier missions. Love the game and want to make sure I don't miss any so any pointers appreciated

2. What are the best cards for the card game thing? So far as I can tell the giant mutie is the most expensive at 50 points but the rest of the cards are generally 20 point damage sinks for me.

Any recollection of names/locations? It's that sort of mission it's easy to miss because it's a waste of time talking to most NPCs and there are no visual clues as to when one of them might have something of interest to say.

Nope... I got 100% game completion (130/130 for the 'obsessive compulsive'), and all the side-missions were pretty obvious. Except for the location of the sewer entrances - there are 7 in the main wasteland and 2 near Subway Town. But they aren't needed for "100% completion" anyway.

You can only have 4 cards in play at once, so you want to be using the most powerful cards in your deck. Ranged cards (dashed arrow in the bottom left corner) are extremely useful, because they can attack any card. If you have a lot of ranged cards then once you start to gain the advantage (i.e. have more cards out than your opponent) you can really put the hurt down.

A mixture of powerful ranged cards and a couple of heavy vehicles will work best. The giant mutant is very powerful, but IMO it's only worth the 50 point cost if it's attacking against a full deck. That said, if you're playing the full 250-point game then you will probably want to add it anyway, as you only have a limited number of cards.

Some NPC'S actually call you over when you walk past them, iirc these are the ones most likely to give a side mission. I dunno about you, but i actually enjoy going around talking to everyone, the stuff they say is short and sweet plus everyone seems to have a unique personality.

yes I'm on 11.9. Are there any links to resources as the problem 11.9 is causing?

edit -

•Reduces intermittent crashing seen loading levels in Rage
•Resolves flickering of NPCs in Rage
•Enables automatic Vsync for Rage

I notice there's a performance driver?

Where did you buy the cards? I only bought the beginner deck. I didn't do any of the sewer grate missions, completely forgot about them :( I'm at about 12 hours and jst got to subway town or whatever it's called, so I can't have missed much. I did lots of races and took up people challenges etc.

The performance driver you mention was the 1st release for a fix at launch.

Here are the most recent ones

You can generally tell if they're more important. If they're always in the same place, they generally eventually offer a quest. If they're just random wanders, they just there to populate the place.

For example, in the bar in both towns, there is a table with two people sitting chatting or moaning about something - they both offer you a task. The first one is to find a miracle cure (night blossom I think) for his Mrs.

You can only buy the starter deck. Most other cards you will find lying around in various places, and the remaining few are given to you as rewards for completing certain quests (buggy for winning Durar's race, cuprino for getting the cuprino, J.K Styles for finishing mutant bash TV etc).

The 'best' cards tend to be a little more hidden than the more basic cards.

But the cards in play are selected at random from your deck right?

Useful, thanks. I hadn't spoken to those guys
