***Official Reading 2009 Thread***

high face value + festival line up not as good in recent years = harder to resell tickets.

Still going, plenty of bands i want to see but not a ridiculous amount of clashes

its been like this ticketwise every single year. the last 2 years at leeds you could just turn up and buy them while there (cant this year because theyre not having the box office)

it amazes me how many idiots buy ebay tickets months before for silly prices when you cant get them for face value the week before. theres even peopel on the leeds facebook group selling them for less than face value now

The problem is that people list them on places like seatwave.com..... then everyone goes ", I can make millions!!", so then everyone lists that at crazy prices...... then they get shafted when a tout comes in with thirty tickets and undercuts all of them.

I did not know about that site...doh. Too late now.

meh 2 years ago it was doom and gloom with the floods etc at Reading, turned up to lovely sunshine and didn't even need wellies :)

Going to Reading this year - mate told me last week he had a ticket spare and I should come (always been trying to get me to go) and since I've managed to miss Glastonbury and Melt! festival this year I decided to try and get the time off work at short notice (week before).

For some reason my boss was in a good mood and let me have the days off so I'm going! :)

Wooo!

Might check the lineup tomorrow, on the other hand, might employ my usual festival technique and wander around till I hear something that pleases my ears. :D

I'm being sent up to Newbury (from Devon) for work tomorrow, how convenient lol.

So staying in the hotel an extra night Thursday to cut the camping down by a night, the wife should be much happier with that :)

Yep, the campsites were like bogs but I came back looking like I'd been abroad it was so hot that weekend!

Anybody heard the rumour that Them Crooked Vultures might be playing on the Saturday??

where are you all thinking about camping and what days will you be arriving?

I haven't been since 05! If anyone wants to share a bit of whiskey with me, come and find us!

And I thought I was cutting it close by buying the last tent in Argos today!
Looking forward to it this year, maybe not the best lineup compared to last year but there are still lots of bands I want to see and more friends will be there.

Well I just got a ticket for £120 so I'll be going again this year. Fortunately my good bank have taken the governments advice to increase lending and rewarded me with an extended overdraft, though i'll be on smartprice vodka this year as opposed to my usual smirnoff good stuff. :p

And to all the naysayers I have to say I love the line up. Looking forward to loads of bands! Only bad thing is it looks like Glasvegas and Maximo Park will clash. :(
