I remember those issues at launch ^^ Come back in a couple of weeks would be my advice. There's a very solid MMO here with a so far excellent F2P model.

I agree, rift has been solid from launch. I just hope it can maintain the quality of the community as in general, its been great throughout the game but f2p new players may tarnish it a bit

Really? I've found the general population to be typical MMO gutter types on the whole.

Yeah, ive very rarely had any issues ingame, mainly doing dungeons or rifts.
Pvp is worse but ive not spent that much time there.
on the whole Ive found people frendly and helpful compared to lolnoob spamming wow players. This was before f2p too

Hey guys is this worth a shot? Long time WoW player but I fancy trying out something new now it's free.

All ive seen in the chat is people bashing WoW and then children crying about it. It goes on constantly and is frankly putting me off people. (not a wow player im an old lotro vet)
It was handled very poorly. Only letting people know an hour or so that it will be moving to a trial server. You would expect a slightly different approach from Trion!
I've moved my Toons to Bloodiron and fortunately didn't have to change any names.

What shard do you all play on?
Here's a tip whenever you start an MMO: create characters on all of the worlds with the usernames you want to reserve so that if a time comes when you need to use that name, you know you have it reserved and it isn't taken by someone else.
This isn't of any help now but it could be in the future.

Gave this another shot since it went ftp. Had a free trial ages ago which I only really played for a short time.
Been enjoying things so far. After seeing the price of the char slots, bags and storm legion soul unlocks, I decided to pickup a cheap copy online to add to my account.
Luckily I managed to pickup the Infinity edition for less than 13 quid, which basically gave me the unlocks + a cyclone mount + portal generator + mini regulos pet + 7k loyalty points + patron time
At moment I'm on the RP shard... got basically shoved there at the start since all the other shards had huuuge wait times, although things have settled down a bit now as they added more shards.
