*** Official Ryzen Owners Thread ***

Heads up, RMA'ing through AMD is rubbish. Not even a prepaid label. Here have our Company Account number and book it yourself... err thanks but how does that help me get it sent back. And yes the rainforest sent me a replacement and it's the same week.

Update, pushed for a prepaid label, so now have DHL picking up tomorrow. Fingers crossed I get my cpu before xmas (very very hopeful).

Been running a Ryzen 1700 system since launch, mostly hassle free.

Recently did a whole bunch of Windows updates (Creators update etc) and having nothing but trouble. Games constantly freezing/crashing within minutes. Full fresh graphics drivers install, made sure BIOS is latest version, SSD firmware update etc. Nothing working. Friend on my old Intel system has had none of these problems. Really hoping it's not my Ryzen hardware causing this :(

I don't think so. Mine is largely unaffected. More likely that the update progress has borked something. A windows reset may fix it.

Mine does around 1650, 3.7Ghz overclock and 3200c14 memory. When I ran the memory at 3466c15 it was a little higher I think over 1660 but now I have 32GB rather than 16GB I just want it to be completely stable.

It seems a bit random. Some times it will loop just once and other times 3 or 4 times.

Always boots to the right memory settings though so far.

Bios is currently p3.00 which isn't the newest but only a couple of versions old. I've been putting off flashing it to the newest bios as I've never done it before and all the horror stories of bricking the board.

I have the same thing. Boot loops 5 times but CPU-z shows my settings have taken. It's quiet annoying. Have the voltage set to 1.385, same memory as you but the 3000.

I've not tried upping the voltage on mine to see if it prevents it?
Any one know if it will.

Thing that baffles me is the OC is stable and the settings are kept, it just boot loops 5 times. This is only on a cold start.

Same for me, CPU-Z shows the timmings are right but it loops on any boot for me. It's annoying as it takes longer to boot loop than it does to get into windows!

Just brought some Dark Pro 8 Pack ram to replace my old ram that came with the bundle I brought when I got my 1600. It’s never got to it’s 3000MHz speed and even failed at 2667. Hoping the Samsung B die will make the difference.

Looking forward to the refresh in a few months. I got the 1600 as I always planned to get the refresh as I believe we will see some decent gains. My 1600 max’s at 3.8 (currently at stock) so hope for 4+ on the refresh.

Do you have the same RAM? Also which Mobo?

I've got the crosshair hero with 4266mhz bdie. Running at 3466 was stable but booting from cold was hit and miss. I spent countless hours tweaking and gave up in the end. I got an i7 and ryzen is now in my daughter's build.

Hmm perhaps it's a quirk of the Asus boards, I have the Asus B350 Strix.

I had the same problem with 3466 and boot loops from cold on my MSI board, I just run 3333 and there are no boot loops, when 3466 was up I could run days of stability tests but the boot loops were a pain in the arse so knocked it back. It is not like 3333 is slow.

The boot looping is a pretty normal thing I thought on Ryzen, it's the so called "memory training"?

I get it when I use the XMP profile of my RAM, but if I ditch the XMP profile and set everything to the same speeds manually, it goes away and boots normally every time.

Running at 4GHz now with RAM at 2933, I'll never get 3200 with this kit but I'll order some 8Pak stuff soon

Sounds like a good idea, I'll plug the settings in manually.

What settings are you using for 4Ghz?
