I see how about 1800X then :D

Like 4.25 **** i cant pass 2 runs on 4.0 :p

ps. My PSU had so much abuse in weeks time that... Coil whine Fixed itself LOL !!!

That was a typo earlier which i corrected. I'm running rock solid stable at 4.025Ghz at 1.330v under full load. Delighted with that though tbh as the 1700 required 1.434v at that speed.

I'm really struggling to keep myself from fiddling.

I want to find a nice stable OC, but also want to wait for another BIOS update or two to address some stuff before I do so, as BIOS update may change what I get... and don't want to spend many nights testing for OC.

Come on Asus, pull your finger out!

I'm in same boat really.

Pushed it to 3.9Ghz the last night but figured I'd have to do it all again soon as that new AGESA seems to be out there now, so I'm just back on stock again.

Can't really be bothered to spend hours stress testing many times over. I bought this thing to use, not to bench.

AAA more like it :)

What i get is not typical crash but program stopped responding msg. I can pass CB 50 times no problem but not IBT/Realbench same ettor

Was your 1800x a freebie? Otherwise i dont see why you would "upgrade"

Nope, bought and paid for out of my own money. Put simply, i wanted to overclock more and i had reached the limits of the 1700.

The 1800X has allowed me further headroom to head towards 4.1 and 4.2Ghz for a 24.7 clock speed.

I'm happy with my decision, but i can see why anyone would think it is a bit daft.

Nah £200 for 200mhz is normal!
Seriously though I'm interested in your own benchmarks compared to your 1700.

On a side note I think I have a stable 3.9 @1.4v. Memory on the other hand, I cant get that stable above 2666 I think I need an upgrade.

I got £300 for my 1700, so not too bad. I'l be using this system for a while and i want all the performance i can get to run x4 GPUs. That's how I'm justifying it to myself anyway. :p

Performance will be the same unless i run at a higher frequency, which going by volts required at 4.025Ghz i should be able to hit 4.1 without much trouble at all.

2x8GB GSkill RBG 3200-3600 CL14-CL16 are the kits to buy. Samsung B Die and works out of the box with minimum effort at 3200.

Once we release more updates, i eventually hope to hit 3600Mhz. My 5960x before this could not support any faster than 3200.

I have the 3000 CL 16 version of those GSkill RGB Kits, what about them?
My ASRock X370 Gaming will arrive tomorrow, i hope i will be able to OC this kit at least to 3200MHz.

Be interesting to see how far you get.

I want 4ghz,but I can see will probably have to settle for 3.95.

Just need to be patient for bios updates.

Not that it's lacking for power at stock :)
