You should look at getting the timings tighter, it makes more of a difference than going from 3200 - 3466 with slack timings, do a comparison at 3200 first, try and get 14/14/14/34-1T once you've benched the 3200 16-16-16-36-1T, then knock it up to 3333/3466 you'll probably end up with a worse result. :)

3466 @ 16-18-18-18-36-75 is quicker than 3200 @ 14-14-14-34-48 for me, although marginally.

As your 5820K was clocked at 4.5Ghz and the 1950X was clocked at 4.1Ghz, it could be argued that the 1950X is faster i would think.

Yes, it's IPC is a few % faster than Broadwell.

what x399 boards do people have and how they finding them

Have a GB Aorus 7 - awesome board. Strong overclocking, great fan control and looking forward to taking advantage of the 3 NVME slots for some raid action. Bios interface/layout could do with some work though, as could the responsiveness. It functionally all there though, but they need to employ a HCI person.

Isn't 1.25v stock voltage? I'm sure mine is around that?

Mine is 1.125v (it'll actually benched at 0.95v @ 3.4ghz sipping 130watts - super efficient), but of course it varies massively due to XFR, power saving etc. I've seen a min of 1.02v up to 1.48v when vcore is set to auto.

7331 at stock with 3466C16 mem
8645 at 4.1ghz

It does seem very inconsistent between runs.

Ta. Not sure what's happening with it! Only built yesterday, so will have a mess around tonight.

BTW based my new sig on yours! ;-)

FYI, just ran it in the background while playing some Rocket league and got 5943 so yeah, I think you need to do some investigating. Haven't enable game mode by accident have you? And have you installed the AMD chipset drivers (you need these to get the AMD balanced power plan).[/URL]

FYI my 1900X & 480 scores the same as Amigafan here much less grunt in my system, so its not really pushing CPU/GPU, it is whole system performance I guess.

I was playing rocket league at the same time remember.

It's a great platform. I can honestly say this is the best upgrade I've ever made/experienced.

I've found that overall, with the apps I use the most, setting NUMA (Local) mode is best for performance by a few percent, so that's how I permanently run my system.

even screwing the CPU into the socket was a nightmare to get the screws to tighten without flexing the mobo too much

I found it easier if I got each screw to bite 1/4 of a turn before fully torquing them down in the correct order. If you fully torque in one go in the stated order - i.e. 1 > 2 > 3 then the third one is almost impossible to get it to 'catch'

Pressing the reset cmos button when powered offwill let you enter the bios on next boot, no need to reinstall Windows.

A long power button press (10s) on power up will boot from the backup bios.

The os has no effect on the bios and I've never heard of both bioses being corrupt. I'm not sure how you've managed that.

Also, you don't need to reinstall the os to reflash the bios. Drop a bios file onto a USB stick and flash through the USB port/utility.

Hope this is useful.

Very useful :-) I've just got a couple of 960 Evos to do exactly the same thing - keep my existing 960 Evo as boot and use the other two in Raid 0 for Adobe work.scratch disks.

From my research so far, it looks like the Intel Wireless driver is probably the issue. At least the system stays up for 5-10 mins before BSOD'ing, so going to try and disable the onboard wifi and use a ****** dongle tonight. Praying it's not something else to do with the 3466 CL16 B-Die ram I bought that's not on the QVL. Running at 2133 for now, mind.

yeah, it's the wireless driver causing the issue.

install this one.
