Wilshires shot was nothing in itself to get excited about, neither is his hunger and willingness to win the ball back(and do if often and often come out of a tackle with a ball), but his vision, passing ability, threading throughballs, and most of all his old Arsenal style pass and moving play. THe quick passing, one/two's, his ability to link up with the entire midfield and attack(obviously excluding Theo, who couldn't return a pass if his life depended on it) are things to get excited about. Lets not forget he played a decent number of games for Bolton, and looked one of their better players, he was consistantly between good and very decent in basically all his games, and looked good against good sides aswell.
I should say, I'm not excited, he's a very decent player now, he's not setting the world alight, but he hasn't been given the chance yet either, he's probably our most capable player out on the wing right now, though he certainly seems to be best running around more centrally, he's certainly got the link up play and determination to get past people on the wing, and primarily played on the wing for Bolton.
He's more than capable of playing first team games for us this year. I only worry that he got so much preseason time with games on TV that he was being pimped out for loan, rather than worrying about tiring him out as he basically played most of both games while no one else came close to that amount of minutes on the pitch.
He's more than good enough now, he's leagues ahead of THeo Walcott in every single aspect of the game, he's stronger, he's not faster but he's more effective with the ball. Will be such an utter waste to send him out on loan.
