*** Official SONOS Thread ***

It allowed me to add a new WiFi network then I could delete the previous one and my Sonos gear just connected to the new network no problem.

The main reason I had to do so is I have a new WiFi 7 router and the Sonos gear doesn’t like WPA 3 with aes 256 so had to switch it to an SSID with lower encryption.

The app must have updated as its a little better, the lag isn't ridiculous like it was previously, but I still can't seem to add songs to play lists. Irritatingly, you can add songs to a queue, but not remove them. They've really dropped the ball on it.

Anyone tried updating the WiFi, need to swap my router in the near future.
I recently changed networks, only way I could move the system to the new network was to hardwire it into my playbar. Can’t get my move to switch across no matter what I try. Eventually gave up and called Sonos support but it was quoting a wait time of an hour so didn’t bother. Really frustrating.

I've just sold my Sonos setup - I heard a real AV setup after 5 years, I have to go back.
What are you buying?

I've had both generations of Beam and Arc and have loved them, but the price of a full set-up, no calibration for android, etc, have left a bad taste. Bought a Samsung Q9900B on sale last year and very impressed. Same price as two ERA 300's and the Atmos effects are IMO in my environment better than the Arc, the Atmos bubble that I've read about is finally there.

I've gone down a Sonos rabbit hole recently and have been buying up 5 x Sonos Play:3's (gen 1) for each room as they're cheap on marketplace. Really enjoying it, not having as many app issues as everyone is reporting.

This has made me really contemplate replacing my current home theatre setup for the Ultimate Immersive Sonos with Arc set. I currently have a Denon X2800h Receiver with Monitor Audio Bronze speakers which are great, however we can't for the life of us find a TV unit that we like but also fits the dimensions of the receiver. This has made me think to replace with the sonos to save on space with the main speakers and wires. I know there will be a difference in sound quality but for the ease of use I can't think of a reason not to at the moment just a bit of a costly exercise!

I had Monitor Audio Gold 5.1 with a decent amp, we moved to Sonos Arc with Sub, Play 1 rears. Yes, there's a drop in sound quality, but for the ease of use, space, wife friendliness, I wouldn't go back. The Arc setup sounds pretty good to be honest but won't be a match for a proper setup. Still have the floorstanders hooked up to a CD player and Sonos Port, selling the sub, centre, and rears nearly paid for the Sonos kit.

God the App is terminally broken. Mate of mine purchased a Beam 2 and 2 x Era 100's for his TV.

He spent 6 hours trying to register the Beam on the app, let alone the Era's. Yesterday I had a go, nightmare for 3 hours, wouldn't show on the app, wouldn't update etc. various error codes, 1101, 1105, 1106. So many device resets.

Tried Android app, iOS app etc. no joy. played with router firewall, DNS - nope...

Turned out to be the app. The only app to work was a legacy (not yet updated) app running on a windows laptop... that worked fine, found the speakers, registered them as expected etc. then and only then could I set them up in the iOS app on my phone.

Just a disaster if new devices for normal none tech people can't be used. Like a company killing disaster.

I'm also having various issues, for the second time I had to delete the app and reinstall it to get it to do anything. The app on my Mac seems fine though.

I barely ever use it, but it just seems they've tried to style it up and lost a lot of functionality.

Having played some music through the soundbar the other day, it took me 5 minutes to find the control to change it back to using the TV as the source.

I use the computer controller rather than the phone app. I have a single Play:3 upstairs for when I'm working/internetting/gaming. The controller works fine except for the bit where it refuses to add my music library. I've tried pretty much every "fix" on the internet except creating a new account for the device which is a piece of stupidity too far. There have been two updates since the one that borked it, and neither did anything. Sonos seem to specialise in bone-headed moves.

Current plan is to move to Yamaha as I already have a Yamaha AV/Amp that can stream Plex etc. But Plex is far weaker for creating playlists, which I rely on.

Integration with apple music is awful now, can't listen and add to your apple library when using sonos app or make them a favourite. It's just far easier now to just use airplay on the one newer gen play one I have. I will give them a few months to smarten up and if not I will start replacing mine out one at a time to another system.

Yup same plan here, I'll likely go the HomePod route although I will keep the Arc/Sub/Play1 rears for TV/film.

I will miss the Port, although I think I can AirPlay to my amp in the kitchen.

How have Sonos messed up so badly. The S2 app worked, there have been rumours of headphones for year's. There's no excuse for releasing broken software just because it's compatible with one new product.

No but it be of the radio stations randomly stopped playing.

I’m tempted to keep the Arc, sub, surrounds and sell every other speaker and the port. Then replace the port in the kitchen with a Naim box that supports AirPlay, and the speakers dotted around the house with HomePods.

I’ve found since they updated the update it’s a lot better. Still not as good as it was. Getting used to the new interface now but I have 11 speakers in all, a mix of gen 2 and gen 3. My paired gen 2 ones in the bedroom don’t respond to manual volume control anymore. Although the gen 2 one rears of my home theatre do control the volume of themselves and the soundbar.
Mixcloud is still very hit and miss and I can’t add a Spotify track to a Spotify playlist within the app which I am sure we could do before. Unless I’m mistaken.

3 nights in a row where the bedroom has glowed green from this muting issue. I see others have it on Reddit. This experience from Sonos is unacceptable.
