Will see if this Mayht technology they've introduced actually does what it says on the tin. As they claim a 4" driver will sound like an 8".
Fingers crossed it can, you would hope they heard proof before buying the company.
I wonder if the Arc Ultra will have HDMI in for external sources? eARC can’t always pass all audio formats through properly and can suffer from delays.
It would seem a shame to have all this fantastic speaker tech only to be let down by inconsistent eARC/ARC implementations on peoples TVs.

Think it was already shown that it's only 1 port. Probably no DTS:HD/X again either.
The previously leaked pictures showed the Arc Ultra with Bluetooth but no HDMI in port.
Yes, 1 port like the original, just an eARC port. The Sonos site is down for maintenance now anyway, so announcement and pre-orders will most likely be up later today.

Where I am going to put the old ARC???? The PC isn't really suitable because I don't think there is the room for it without rearranging the study!
Damn much cheaper than I expected. Do I regret my arc purchase the other week for 720 or not...hmm

Once you add a sub, I can’t see there being a huge difference in how the setup sounds.
The biggest issue with Sonos is the lack of bass impact, which needs a better quality sub to resolve, not necessarily more speakers in a soundbar.
I’d like to see a Sonos Sub Ultra with 600w+ dual 8 inch, sealed.
I've never heard/felt a true home theatre subwoofer but I found the Sonos subwoofer much better than Samsung's Q990 subwoofer or the sub I had with a Yamaha soundbar. I did run a dual sub set-up with Gen 3 & Gen 2 and it was great for me and stopped the localised bass effect.

The Sonos one is horse crap by comparison to a proper subwoofer.
It digs deep but quickly runs out of puff and doesn’t have the attack speed of a proper sub.
A good subwoofer will go deep and energise a room properly, be articulate with complex frequency transitions and hit hard. Usually you pick 2 but the Sonos Sub only does 1.
This is why some people, me included, feel the Sub Mini is better. It doesn’t go deep but it has good punch and is more articulate with the bass notes it does play. I.e. it isn’t a one trick pony.
Just a shame you can use two in a single setup.
Hence I want a beefier Sub Mini
