My friends have the beam with the ikea bookshelf speakers for the surround and in a bigger room than ours (Arc+Sub) it sounds fantastic. I would've went for the Beam but it's only because my partner didn't want the surrounds we decided to get the Arc.

The beam is a really capable soundbar in my opinion.
 
Hi all. I am after a new soundbar and the beam for £299 is on my shortlist along with the the Sony htzf9.

My tv is a Sony xf90 and only had hdmi arc and not the hdmi e arc. The TV and soundbar will be in a small bedroom, I am just wanting something that will improve audio quality and make speech clearer etc.

I don't think the Beam minds if it's ARC or eARC to be honest. It doesn't require (AFAIK) the additional bandwidth which it would if it had Atmos etc. I could be, and probably am, wrong though!

Awesome deal! We're currently debating what to put in the bedroom. We were going to get a Sonos 1 but we're considering getting two IKEA Symfonisk speakers and having one either side of our bed to be used as shelves but also have the AppleTV output audio to them. Sound quality isn't a huge concern in the bedroom really

It's addictive. I already want us to get a speaker in the kitchen as well as upstairs. Such an easy app to use

The beam does not care, if you want Atmos, Sonos Arc and a TV with eArc or scrap the eArc and use a Arcana unit.

Yeah I didn't think the beam cared but I didn't want to say definitively one way or the other. Would love a Beam for the bedroom TV but think it's probably a bit too much for a bedroom. Though if I see a good deal a few months down the line I would
 
If you do the Trade-Up, what happens with the kit that you ‘trade’? Do you send it in, or does it get firmware nuked by Sonos?
Also do you know if the discount code stacks with other codes (Black Friday, Bluelight Card etc)?

nothing happens to it, the older hardware uses the Sonos S1 app, all the new stuff uses the S2 app.

I bought a g1 Play 5 used the trade up then sold it again
