*** Official SONOS Thread ***

I've never had any kind of sound system for my 2017 LG OLED. I've been looking at the 300 quid beam in the sales and seriously thinking about it. I take it it'll be a dencentish upgrade for general TV / Spotify / TuneIn listening in a 6 X 5 living room?

Over the built in speakers in any TV it will be a massive upgrade! Yes as others will no doubt point out it won’t match a good quality 5.1 separates system or top of the range Yamaha sound bar but it is good and the Sonos system is excellent if you want a super simple multi room audio system.

Hilariously as if my Sony 2.1 sound bar knew we were considering swapping it up for an Arc, Bluetooth stopped working on Friday and today the remote died.
Within the hour we had an Arc from Curry’s to replace it! Amazing kit, just need to get a Sub now.

it appears I cannot stack Bluelight discount (15%), BlackFriday/Cyber Monday discount (-£100) and the trade-up 15% discount however. It only allows one. So best I can do is £594 for a Sub direct from Sonos.

Does anyone have any other ideas for discounting it further please?

The sub is such a rip off I’m really not sure how they get away with it! You’ll struggle to beat that price I would have thought.

everything sonos makes is overpriced. the price I paid just for the Arc soundbar I could have bought the full samsung 9.1.4 kit which includes the soundbar, sub and rears.

Just bought the Beam for my bedroom, got a good deal at £270. It's be my first Sonos device, hope they are as good as people suggest!
Had it a little while now and so far I love it.

It sounds fantastic for the size of it and really surprised how much bass there is considering everyone says get the sub - it's really not needed at all, and my bedroom is quite big too.

Few annoying issues with it, but I guess most will be fixed or I'll get used to. Main issues are Alexa is way too quiet compared to the volume it's on and It can be a bit of a pain switching back from steaming to the TV.

For £270 I'm happy with it. It's definitely not worth full price though, £400 would be an absolute rip off.

My Port has arrived and I'm pleasantly surprised at how small it is. The Connect is a bit of a beast and being white it sticks out like a sore thumb in the location it's in. The Port will fit in much better.

As per Twitter: Sonos ceo admits lpcm isn't working correct all the time and a fix is being worked on. The issue is that some devices (Apple TV box, PlayStation 5 and others)detect the Arc as a 7.1 system and the Arc fails to downmox it in 5.1

Got a Sonos ARC coming on Sunday, to go with my LG CX OLED48CX, what are the best speaks to use for the surrounds, do I really need to pick up a Gen3 Sub as well or will the ARC be enough?

I've never really been a fan of trouser flapping bass so I just wondered if anybody with an ARC uses it without?

I had the Arc for several weeks by itself before I decided to buy the sub. It's certainly not needed and without the sub the Arc performs really well but I just found it was missing that little something in both films and music (I do listen to bass heavy music though)
My partner was more than happy with just the Arc and she felt it was ample for our room.

Regarding surrounds; I expect the actual Sonos Ones/Fives are going to be your best bet but I'm really tempted to get the Ikea Symfonisk speakers as they're about £90 each so you can get both for little more than the price of one One. My friend uses two with his Beam and they're really good as providing the additional sound.

We're going to get two Symfonisks for the bedroom so that we can have it do the audio from the AppleTV.

It's friends here, ARC is due tomorrow.

I wasn't impressed with the Symfonisk speakers as rears but maybe that's down to what I listen to and speaker placement in the room. To my ears a pair of One's sounded significantly better.
Oh for sure the Ones would be better but they're also significantly more money.

Mind you I've not heard the ones as rears so nothing to compare them to

30% discount, where did that come from ;)

So Ones as rears then, not Fives?

For every product that Sonos have said is end of like and can't be upgraded to S2 they give you a 30% off voucher.

I've got 2 Gen 1 Play:5s so used one of their vouchers. Originally they bricked the device you upgrade but they stopped that.
