So we’re moving in the neŵ year and I’m planning on my new living room set up .
Currently we have the following kit and although it’s sounds awesome it not what I would say user friendly for setting up , the misses also wants zero speaker wires .
Denton AVR-X2500H
Q Acoustics Q7000i 5.1 cinema system , 5 speakers and a woofer .
‘So we never used the Dolby Atmos feature on this amp as her who must be obeyed didn’t want an extra 2 speakers .
Im looking at the Sonus Arc , bar only no sub or satellites, am I really taking a step back from my current setup or will the addition of Dolby Armos make up for it ? It will be coming from a LG CX65
Whats the best place to buy ? Everywhere is £799 so I. Guessing JL for customer support?

Yup that works I believe provided the code hasn't been used for that device already.

Am I correct in saying the only way of getting ATMOS sound from PLEX is via a NVIDIA Shield TV e.g. the native PLEX app on the LG CX won’t pass through to the Sonos ARC?

I use an Apple TV on my older LG tv, paired with the Acana 18gbps unit which splits the signal from the Apple tv, sends the Atmos to soundbar and picture to TV. Not sure if that would help you?

Doesn't the LGCX have eARC? So it should pass through Atmos to the Sonos Arc via that. The Plex app should be set to pass through in the settings.

Exactly that, confirmed by another member on a different thread, exactly their use case. Sonos ARC plugged into eARC and NVIDIA Shield TV plugged into another HDMI port on CX, haven't tried it myself yet but seems reasonable.

I have a friend who will be delighted to be able to add a second sub to his setup. Personally I won't bother, a single sub is definitely sufficient for me.
Folks, so whats the deal with the old gen 1 stuff which cant be upgrade? What makes them unusable or different to the gen 2 stuff?
A colleague at work has given me 3 of his Play 5's a couple of Play 3's/1s, as well as a Bridge and some other stuff....

Just won't work with any newer stuff but if it's all the same gen then it'll work as normal
Just needs the older app (available on the app store)
No idea I'm afraid. I believe they said it was down to the older devices not having enough memory to run with the new app or something.
I believe the term is called 'planned obsolescence'

Have a sub on order but its delayed due to shipping issues.
Has this been shipped or still with Sonos?
