*** Official SONOS Thread ***

Guys, sorry for a question that will be out there, but I am struggling with the different responses via Google.
I have bought a couple of Play 1s to add to my current system. Currently, all speakers are just on one system, and I am the only one who uses and controls the music. I want to put the 1s in 2 of my kid's rooms so they can use it for their Apple Music. For them to use the speakers will they need to download the Sonos app, connect to the system which is all automated, how will they access their apple music as it seems to revert to mine? Is that normal?
I know spotify doesn't need the sonos app, they can simply open Spotify, choose music, then 'stream' to the speaker. The speaker does need to be on and it should appear in spotify. The speaker names will be the one you assign when you create 'rooms', so I see 'Living Room' (which is Playbar/sub/play 1s) and 'Sonos Roam' when I do this. Not sure if Apple Music has the same/similar functionality.

I also know that you can add multiple people's accounts in the Sonos app, so if you were using that you can select the correct profile from an account to play music from.

I've had an Arc and 2x Era 300 setup for about 6 months. About a week ago, I finally grabbed the Sub Gen. 3 (was on sale and way cheaper than Gen. 4) to add to it.
Super happy with the addition and impact it has made to not just the bass, but overall sound and clarity.

I won't be getting the Arc Ultra just yet this seems a good enough setup.

I'm yet to see any comparison of the arc va the ultra in a full surround setup. Every review I've seen so far has reviewed the bar by itself which doesn't help me make a decision. The only benefit I can identify so far is clearer dialogue from the ultra but I've never had any issue hearing dialogue from any Sonos soundbar ever so makes no difference to me

You can either have them download the Sonos app and connect their Apple Music account, or they should be able to use Airplay from their Apple device to the speaker.

This guy has the full surround setup. He tested the Arc and Arc ultra and says he can't hear any difference between the two setups

That's all I needed to hear, it seems no reason for me replace my arc then

Took the 15% code via BLC so down to £850

Wow. Have just setup and put on some scenes from Dune: Part Two and I am impressed. I don’t have a true bench mark as have been using the TV audio from my television but there is such clarity in the range of tones. Found with both Dune films that there was heavy bass which could be overwhelming but on the low volume I have been playing it on, everything is crisp.

Can’t wait till tomorrow to turn it up a notch, neighbours might be in for a little surprise . Only other problem is that it is now making my 48 inch OLED seem small!

I've not played music through my Sonos speakers for a few weeks (maybe longer) but went to listen to something today that's on my local music library and it's back to being a hot mess.

About half of the speakers refuse to join the group (unable to connect), others will drop out at random and then re-join and they'll then randomly skip the rest of the track that's playing and move to a track 3 - 4 down the playlist.

I've had these problems before but following an app and firmware update it was all working brilliantly. If we're back to it dicking about then I'll probably bit the bullet and rip them out and replace them with something else.

They seem determined to kill themselves. We have about 10 sonos ones/play one in this house and I'm given up with the software now. After Christmas I'm going to sell them off and change system. It's just an awful user experience now, no one in the house even wants to use them anymore.

Same. I have a play one and a play 3 and they frequently disappear from the app. Plus the app never stays running, I play some music, go to skip a track 5 minutes later and the app has to find the system again despite me not closing it.

Is this the same for everyone else? Or is there a setting I need to change? On Android btw

The app experience is good for me, I don’t really have any problems with it anymore. Earlier in the year it was terrible but to be fair to Sonos, they seem to have fixed the issues I was seeing.

I’m using an iPhone and I have my speakers wired where possible. I have a bunch of beam 1s, Arc Ultra/sub3/era300 and some play 1s.

Have you got a network cable to connect to any of them so they can create their own network to all connect to? That solved all my issues.
