******Official Star Citizen / Squadron 42 Thread******

The one where you get nothing but another forum section full of entitled moaning people who are in denial about their spending habits?

That one? Just want to check.. :D

Oh my god the game is so much better today. I think there was a small update.

I actually managed to complete a bounty mission, and things were running very nicely as well. I followed the ship as it plummeted to a planet and exploded. I went down and landed to see what I could do with the wreck and was surprised to see I could pick up two of its weapons. Unfortunately my ship is tiny and I wasn't really sure what I could do with them, so I left them. The wind and rain on the snowy planet I was on was amazing, the sound was great too. It was nice seeing other players running about places today as I don't think I saw anyone when I played yesterday.

Looks like dynamic clouds that were shown off at citcon are coming to 4.0.

I don't believe they are the full version as it needs all the data for the geology side of things etc to make it fully work but I expect it is a halfway house version simplified tbh for testing principles. The clouds look better if you slow it down around the 1m28s time.

True, From what I've read they have everything in minus info from genesis like humidity and wind direction/strength which will play a part in cloud size, rain, storms etc...

I like the new Crusader starter ship, it's ugly but nice..

I seem to be the only one from what I can see online though, reddit seems to have blown up with people moaning about a ship they don't have to buy..

After many many years i'm still complaining about the same thing.

All they do is fly round in circles and joust, that's it, they fly at you at 200M/s, you jump out of their way and turn around to get back on target they are already flying right at you again at 200M/s, how something like a Terrapin can turn around from 200M/s and be right back on top of you again at 200M/s before you can turn your fighter around is a joke but what they also do it follow you when you try to jump out of their way, quite often you don't have time to get out of their way so they just ram you, its like they are simply fixed on your centre mass and just go for you, if they are coming in from the side like that and you don't see them they simply track your centre mass and fly in to you.

After so many years, regardless of Master Modes and all that we still have these incredibly basic NPC behaviours where they see you and they fly at you, that's it.

I have tried the protect cargo hauler priority mission 7 times and completed it twice, the other 5 times i failed the mission due to not being able to get out of the dumb NPC's way in time to be rammed.

I did all 6 missions within maybe an hour with no failures but the enemies ramming you is insane, I thankfully dodged out of the way each time but it's very bad NPC AI.

This was using the Scorpius, they have taken this Gladius sized "Heavy Fighter" status too literally and nerfed it to the point where it turns like a redeemer, but a Terrapin should not be able to fly over you with you avoiding it only for it to turn 180 degrees and be flying right back at you at 200M/s before you can turn the Scorpius 180 degrees, not even joking you drag that thing round and the Terrapin is already coming the other way about to crash in to you, its like a cartoon. Half my failures were being smashed head on by a Terrapin like that with the other half being rammed in the side by something else.

****** Ridiculous.

I've just looked back and some older Scorpius footage, yeah even in atmosphere it was much more agile, still a bit heavy but manageable, NPC's were better behaved 2 years ago too...

I always liked this ship, now i see why, its a very different beast now, no one likes it anymore.

This game is fun where it ***** works properly or they haven't needlessly messed about with it.
