******Official Star Citizen / Squadron 42 Thread******

Do most of you use gimbals? I know you can lock them, but does that then give you the lead pip that doesn't follow the mouse? I might try non-gimballed as that might seem more natural, but I'm not sure how well they've done that bit...

Different weapons give different pips but sometimes if you remove the gimbal mount and shove a fixed weapon on they'll share a pip, seems to be a case of mix and match but on the Vanguard I found locking the gimbal gave me two but they were reasonably close together.

Ill pop on tonight Halfmad to discuss :)

Might be on - got visitors tonight but shall try to be on around 9pm mate.

3 of us headed to vanduul swarm around 9pm tonight if anyone wants that 4th spot. I'm flying a cutlass for my next quick review so getting footage for the combat section. Still need to rent one with REC lol

Never flown one before, this could be a quick match :D In all seriousness though it's highly likely we'll make it right through all waves as we've been managing very well recently (when pete doesn't crash into me).

Last time only one of the 3 of us died and that was only once.. when Pete randomly exploded.

Sabre should be flight ready soon ;)

Wave 13 in the SH if that's your first, second or third attempt I'd say that was pretty good, better than I did anyway as I couldn't help crash into things.

I love Crusader, especially stowing away in random peoples Avenger beds then hopping out when they EVA and borrowing their ship. I return it if they ask in chat though, I'm not evil!

Depends mate, if you haven't got a lot of free time you might want to get something else, but they can all be earned in-game.

If you've got the gaming time then just sit tight for now. It's worth while trying the alpha out now that Crusader is around, it's a little planetary system to mess around in, it's not persistent so people are just doing all sorts of random stuff :)

Nah mostly just fluff and I expect it all to be in-game anyway, ships will be.

300i like the other 300 series is getting a complete rework so it'll look better and hopefully have a better loadout :)

Not yet its not, they're actually actively taking feedback on the feedback of owners right now, with the POSSIBILITY of that being used to implement changes.

The reality is that it does need them, and CIG obviously had the understanding to go back to the Constellation 3 times to get it right, so i doubt they'd say the 300 series was right first time, cos it was designed before so many of their gameplay pipelines and things like cargo dont really conform to this ships capabilities.

Most people expect it to happen, but right now they're clearly not committing to it, only looking at the possibility.

Ben allegedly confirmed it on one of the RtVs a while ago but it's low priority and unlikely to happen any time soon. Nobody has ever actually told me what RtV it was though, which speaks volumes lol

Pretty nice post here about the issues with the ship:

If anyone is an Imperator subscriber and has a 20% discount code going please let me know as i have a friend who wants to get on board but cash is tight and he would appreciate the code

I can sell a $30 starter pack if he wants mate screenshot in one of my recent posts at cost obviously.

I didnt last that long.

Bought one of my Lti P72s back and CCUd it to a Khartu-al this weekend.

:(

So thats now:

Sabre
Vanguard and upgrade kits.
BMM
Star G
Khartu-al.

:( :( :(

Oh dear! I just noticed your post :D This is why I usually tell people to just buy the basic one and ignore ever ship that's mentioned as they'll end up buying it. It's too hard to resist at times! At my peak I had almost 3 times as many ships as now across my accounts, fortunately sanity kicked in and the grey market gave me a way to lessen the load!

I keep having a discussion with myself about changing my cutlass black to a freelancer... and then I start thinking of just getting another starter ship and upgrading that over time....

Wait until they sort the Cutlass out, I few a cutlass black last night in Vanduul swarm and it was horrible, harder to control than my Glaive by a long way. One of the worst I've flown :( so much for a manoeuvrable ship!

Freelancer is surprisingly good, it does fly like a proper merchant cargo ship though, it's no fighter.

Is the Khartu al coming anytime soon then? I bought one yonks ago and have basically ignored the game until that comes out.

Still in the works but they are actually working on it, this was released just a couple of days ago: http://imgur.com/a/CXLLO

TBH I think after the problems they've had with the Cutlass they're probably trying to figure out how the hell to get it to work!

It's likely to cost double what the price is at the moment, Squadron 42 is essentially going to be a stand alone AAA title. Especially after all the work FloatingDolphin has put in ;)

Bottom line you need a package, not a standalone ship. It should show in the package that you own:

Star Citizen Digital Download

AND

Squadron 42 Digital Download

This ensures you have both single and multiplayer games, it'll also include insurance (in-game time that you play, no implemented yet so dont' worry) and other fluff like hangar.

You can get the starter packages here:

https://robertsspaceindustries.com/pledge

I'd strongly recommend this one as it's the best value for money and gives you an excellent little ship:

Example:

I recommend the Aurora LN as it's a decent fighter whilst also having a good cargo hold for a small ship

I'm half hoping they keep the price of SQ42 down and use it as a recruiting tool for SC longer term but don't entirely discount it like Frontier did with Elite: Dangerous when Horizons came out.

Subscribers asking for additional melt tokens as a perk.. honestly I'm so fed up of the entitlement in there and concierge, it gets worse every month. :-/

That's the problem though, we have perks already and it's always been about not possibly influencing end-game. It's easy to argue that giving additional flexibility to subs like this would give them an advantage any time a sale came up and seeing as right now that token idea is such a divisive topic in the community it seems borderline retarded to request it IMHO.

There are some subscribers who want a "them and us" community, which is a damn shame.

Pete/Worzel will be shaking in his boots if you get your 325 improved, that hornet of his won't keep you off the top of the scoreboard in our coop matches lol

I wouldn't expect to be out of alpha this year, beta - probably all of next year however it's coming in parts, hence the split.

You'll almost certainly see Squadron 42, the single player campaign either late this year or early next with the multi player part coming much later.

However I've already played around 500 hours in the alpha, there's a lot of fun to be had already, just ask Humbug he recently joined us for a couple of sessions :D
