******Official Star Citizen / Squadron 42 Thread******

Cern, same advice I gave to grumpybeard here. Aurora LN is a very capable little ship, has a small cargo hold but for initial pledge it's perfect and you can always upgrade later on if you want to a bigger ship.

It lacks a jump drive like the Aurora LX but to be honest that's really not a big deal and can be fitted later in the public universe. The LN is amazing value for money, the rest of the space coffins really aren't worth considering whilst it's available :D

Agree with pretty much everything you wrote about the 325A, some people seem to be asking for it to have a higher internal space, only problem I see with that is it makes it a bigger target, but it's probably possible without a huge change.

If they tweaked it a bit I'd probably upgrade my Aurora LN to a 325A (or 315) but I have a feeling it'll only be cosmetic changes rather than flight model/armour buffs when we get hold of the new one.

I had scheduled this to go up next week but seeing as people keep asking about it..

The combat demo (starts at about 1:48) is just an uncut clip of me playing in wave 17, I'm using the stock loadout - I have difficulty getting to that wave in some much more powerful ships when flying solo (which I was here). I did lose in Wave 18 but only due to me flying into a sodding asteroid :p

Breeze it depends when the code was redeemed, around a year ago they stopped including it, but codes redeemed prior to that did have it.

I don't think they were even meant to have it but one of the usual screw ups with packages granted it to those who redeemed fairly early on.

Accounts are being attributed with backer rewards in the RSI site hangar section, nothing in the actual hangar but at least they're on the accounts at last.

Ah... i'm not a subscriber.

I might look into it tho, anymore content?

edit: found it... https://robertsspaceindustries.com/pledge/subscriptions

I've been an imperator sub for a few years, got to say I think anyone starting it now gets far, far less than we were promised at the start, they've really watered a lot of the stuff down. We've been told that if we were eligible for previous rewards like "create a pirate" we'll still get them - we'll see, I'm not convinced.

I do like the flair though, it's meaningless silly stuff but looks nice and especially in the two basic hangars really adds to them, not so much in R&Y and the 'roid hangar though, but I prefer the basic ones anyway..

I've got a few spare trophies, I usually gift the spare stuff to randoms in the org but haven't recently as, well I keep forgetting lol

Here's a really poor quality vid I did of the first 20 flairs:

unsurprisingly the calendar (hasn't been updated since) takes up the first minute or so..

Some screenies I just took of stuff in the R&Y:
Ship models, love how the latest patch makes one of the legs of the stand disappear lol:

Manchester citcon event poster from this year (I have it hanging in my room too as they gave away 1000 at the event):

Incidentally one of the devs in the company I work at e-mailed me on Monday asking if I flew an ASP, apparently he's really into Eve Dangerous and spotted my real name in the game, so that sort of perk does work. My name isn't common so he had a bit of a WTF moment lol

They stopped stretch goals a while ago, there are occasionally backer rewards such as wreaths at Christmas etc

They seem to be more focused on the game than fluff finally, latest good news for us OCUKers is the party system is being worked on by Foundry 42 in the UK :)

Changed from 325A to a cutlass black with flash mount and S4 gun, a side from being a little buggy in it's current state I find it's much more up my street. The 325A just didn't feel like the interdictor/fighter I wanted after the ROF change to the Sledge 2

also upgraded my mustang package to an Avenger, really nice ship! great flight characteristics and looks boss

but.. now I'm yet again hooked and looking at a Freelancer or dare I say it connie..

I'd rather fly any ship other than a cutlass just now, it's handling is terrible. Think I gave it the lowest score out of the ships I've reviewed lol

Great looking ship but it needs fixed.

We have over 100 members, where are they all?

Like most orgs a lot are dormant or just not wanting to alpha test, find it a bit weird since they did buy in early, but hey ho! We've got about 20 members who are online at various stages during the week but at different times as we've got a few US/Canadian players, several Australians and NZlanders and some random folks in Hong Kong etc.

Oddly we're more active than several orgs of similar size that I chat to on the RSI site. I know one with over 200 members who only has himself and his real life mate posting on their forum and playing the game but then again most of his members are affiliates, so will probably be focused on their own orgs, that's one of the issues with the affiliate system.

In total we've probably got about 40-50 members just now who are either active on the RSI site, our site, in-game or on reddit that I know of, for a game that's a long way from completion I think that's pretty good, but it's not like we only play Star Citizen :)

I do think we should consider some other random games, the ARK server was pretty popular and most people only stopped playing due to some game killing bugs, need to consider some other org servers for other games IMHO :)

Going to update and slim down the OP to reflect the new packages etc - if anyone wants their org added just let me know, I'll list them alphabetically to be fair.

You don't have to be recruiting, it's always good to know who's an OCUKer after all.

Will do mate

Also you are more than welcome to join us when we're in game messing about, although hopefully they get grouping sorted soon as it's a pain trying to get into the same instance!

Got a few of these going on youtube from Wednesday night soon, this was the first one when only Impman and I were on TS, he grabbed his merlin for Vanduul swarm :) Meanwhile I stuck to my Glaive which failed to load the targetting UI etc so no missile warnings for me again..

I removed the teamspeak and my mic channel so it was suitable to be hosted here (we swear a fair bit!).

I'll need to have a play with DXTory as I noticed on longer recordings my audio gradually gets out of sync, about 5s over the course of 35 mins. Might need to jump back to the Lagarith codec.

Oooooh nice find Humbug :) I like that site!

Just had a fly in VS with the Merlin, it's REALLY nice! But you do need to mount countermeasures in the hangar first apparently.. still to do that.

Concierge members are being offered a tour of the various studios on the 4th March. I can't make it but here the post for anyone else who's interested:

https://forums.robertsspaceindustries.com/discussion/319072/concierge-pop-up-event-march-4-2016

Hey everyone!

We’d like to thank you for your dedicated support of Star Citizen by inviting you to a little pop-up party! As a concierge-level backer, you’re eligible to attend our first ever cross-studio happy hour with the Star Citizen team. We will be hosting an informal gathering on Friday, March 4th from 6 to 9 PM (local time) near all four studios, in Santa Monica, Manchester, Frankfurt and Austin! Staff from all studios will attend, and they’re excited to meet backers and talk about the ‘Verse.

Interested and able to attend? Please comment in the thread below letting us know which location you can make it to. This will give us a general idea of how many folks to expect, and additionally, whether we can extend the invite to include +1's. Please note that unfortunately, we will not be able to accommodate studio visits for this event. If you're not able to attend this round, don't fret! We'd like to schedule more of these throughout the year, so there will be other opportunities.

We'll send another e-mail next week with more details including the addresses for each location. It should be a great opportunity to meet the team behind the game, and even ask them some of your burning questions. We can’t thank you enough for making it possible for us to build this universe… so we’ll do the next best thing and raise a glass in your honor!

Good info Paul, might add the Esperia Glaive to that list as it seems to have been forgotten, we've got the Vanduul one after all which includes neck breaking seat :)

Longbow- not hard to make but hard to make look nice. If you have the equipment or someone locally to make the panel the rest is easy enough. The guy selling them is basically making a little profit and charging for his time + idea. I don't think it's actually that bad a price, although I still think it's too early to know if it'll be any use.

Problem is my CH Pro throttle has enough space for just about anything I want plus I can always use a tablet with Roccat power grid installed. Issue with switches is most, if not all will be momentary only, rather than proper on/off toggles which never feel that good - so this doesn't really add much to the experience.
