******Official Star Citizen / Squadron 42 Thread******

Reinstalled this to try again a few nights ago on my 9600k + RTX 3090, ran like crap... Was getting around 30-40fps on medium settings. It actually ran abit better on my old 2080! This game seems to get worse and worse everytime i try to run it...
 
I have no clue what I'm doing.

Do I buy a fighter? F7C 2 seater? or.. can I get something to make money, like a hauler/miner/general purpose mini-ship?
 
Depends on what you enjoy doing.
If you want to make money, mining is your best bet, although you can grind out a living by doing repetitive combat missions and bounties.

What's an all rounder ship to choose? I'm not spending real money yet.

I also see cargo ships. But no idea if i can buy etc.

Seen a few comments to this effect and just want to get some clarity on it. The Buccaneer has double the shields that the Arrow has, so the argument that it is very fragile sounds a bit odd when I'm not generally finding myself losing shields that often when I tried the Arrow. Is it just a case that the actual hull HP is kinda nonexistent, so if you lose shields you're screwed? Whereas the Arrow is a bit more resistant?

I tried finding some values on current hull HP, but not had any luck there. Mostly just posts saying how they'll be replacing it with proper armour physics in the future - which will be awesome.
 
I loaded this up earlier, managed to get off the bed and out of the bedroom.

Then got stuck in a room with about 5 doors, none of which would open for me.

Need to watch a tutorial I think!
 
Today the elevators were not working to the spaceport lol. Had to get someone to fly me over after going out on the surface.

Not enough vram I hear :p

I have not installed it in years. Waiting for SQ42. I am guessing it will be out in 2022 around the time next gen graphics cards are out.

Funny I recall Chris saying it would never run on consoles. But he took so long that new consoles that will run it came out. Lol.

I just hope it comes out on PC first then port to consoles later on the side. Not design it with consoles in mind or for consoles.

In any case I have my intel optane nvme ready and waiting :D

Yes i have joystick working. You can select it from the keybinding settings at the bottom left corner where it would initially says "keyboard" , scroll using the left or right arrows to see something like "Joystick xxx/controller xxx" and once selected, start tweaking
