******Official Star Citizen / Squadron 42 Thread******

Sound, 3.10 and onwards i have started to play this more now, backed it ages ago but felt it's has not really been in a state to play.

But damm things are good now, what a game really been enjoying it (apart from the 30k's). Just done my cutty up with snowdrop coolers, fr-76 shields and a Sedulity power plant. still overheats when gunning thou

@rs155
I think you just threw a lot of money away on most of those components :)

- Coolers don't really do much right now, unless you've picked a bunch of other components that take it over the heat limit of the stock items. You spent ~165k on those... Oof!
As you've found, they do squat for weapon cooling.

- Sedulity was another overpriced unnecessary expense too. A Maelstrom at less than half the price would have been absolutely fine for any loadout on the Cutty for example, and even that's a little overkill.

- The FR-76 was a good choice

Even with the most power hungry weapon choices, a Maelstrom or even lower, FR-76 and a Crossfield quantum drive are your go to on the Cutty.

Use this for all your loadout goodness if you haven't done so already: https://www.erkul.games/

Cheers man, I did go with the crossfield for the qt, and attrittion 2's for the guns, and yea the 165k for the coolers was a sting, really did think they would let me shoot forever hahahah.

Cherrs for the info on the site, i will check it out

If you want lasers, you're probably better off with Badgers/Panthers since Attritions have DPS drop off after 300m range and as you've found, they tend to overheat quicker.

I likes me dem NN-14's, though they still suffer from DPS drop off and don't have the greatest range + slow fire rate.
However, if you have 4 of them on the Cutlass and assign two each to right and left click, you can effectively double the fire rate by pressing one of the clicks slightly after the other.

Yeah, i use a x56 flight stick so have got the 2 fire buttons ready to let all guns go, Lightstrike 2's any good?

What we thinking about the new ship claim times?
Right feature but wrong time to implement it.

That is a feature you implement once most of the gameplay and stabiliy is there.

They will revert it/tweak it in 3.13 patch once they have gathered all the data showing its a farce.

If they had icache online where any server crashes restores your ships for free then thats a good start

yea man so true, really strange time to implement something like this were you get penalized for a game crash or falling though the floor

Yep. Half decent idea, but what a silly time to do it.

Refineries are currently crap as well.
While I don't really mind the extra steps and increased time it takes to get paid, halving the sale price of raw ore and having to go through all these hoops to get paid roughly the same amount as you previously got for simply selling raw material is a bit of a ****take.
Wouldn't be surprised if ROC mining also gets nerfed to bring it in line.

New mining UI looked good in pics, but is crap in practice. Translucency and lack of an arrow marker on the rock energy level make it difficult to read and the text is tiny.
(Note: Mining is my main 'occupation' in this. In fact, I manage the mining dept in our org FWIW, so this stuff triggers me :D :D :o)

So yeah... Making it more difficult to earn decent cash, while increasing costs and waiting times to get your ships after you've probably lost them due to common game issues is brilliant thinking.

I know it's all subject to change, so let's see what happens after all the feedback. Right now, however, 3.12 lost all it's shine for me.
An empty new station and snazzy gas clouds don't make up for it.

/end rant

That was always going to happen re mining though i.e raw ore being < refined price. In terms of UEC earnt I wouldn't have any expectations on what the hell that could end up at. Ultimately that's a wider economy piece and if you're earning half but price of components etc. comes down then it's hardly the end of the world though that's not going to become clear until much further down the line. Guaranteed there will be people complaining that the payouts are too low whatever they end up at.

The beginning is the same as the first one, but it looks like its been re released as a much longer version, nearly 10 minutes long.

How "playable" is the PTU now? I uninstalled a couple of years ago but wondering if there's any decent game play / learning to be had now which will help when it's finally released. Jump in now or hold on a bit longer?
