Its on Microtech, the ice planet furthest from the star, when you get there double click on it to zoom in on it and look for MT DateCenter E20-HSG-Y, jump to it, once you drop out of QT you should be about 25KM away from it, probbably a different angle from where i was but that should not matter, i just want to get a rough idea how Ampere deal with these clouds, your Raster performance is similar to my RTX 2070 Super, but your FP32 throughput is twice as high, i have a theory that matters.
Don't get too close the the Datacenter, i will shoot at you.

That's more or less right with what im getting though i rarely see below 50fps, on average i'd say it was more around 60fps. When you're in space and only you in your ship walking around its insanely high, almost 170fps? I'll need to confirm later but its silky smooth.

There is some optimisation still to be had, CIG said this, they are working their way through and adding Vulkan to it, with each patch more and more of it is ported over, about 70% of it is Vulkan so far.

There are serval games that seem to love the 96MB of L3 you have on that thing, this is one, MS Flight Sim is another, just imagine it if it ran higher than 4.4Ghz.

Windle tested it with a bunch of "odd" games, games that are perhaps not naturally well optimised, it monsters a lot of those, its a very geeky CPU in more ways than one.

Gonna try this tonight, see if it makes any difference rather than disabling the e-cores via bios i'll do it via a shortcut setting the affinity instead.

I'm GPU limited, its constantly pegged at 99%, the highest i can get is over 100 FPS, but only just, and its rare, planet side, depending on where, 35 to 60, its still very smooth this game when its working properly has very good frame pacing, you just don't notice it running at 35 FPS unless you're running your OSD

With that i really need a new GPU, the game is perfectly playable, with the clouds off, but i would like to run them, so i'm wondering if Ampere has something in its architecture that's just that much better for the clouds. Even if not i would still like Frame Rates that are higher than the 30's worst case.

I love this GPU, its solid, its almost completely silent, which matters to me, i like a quiet PC, but its on the cusp of just not being good enough for SC at 1440P.

I will say I was seeing some strange blurring as I turned left to right in Area18 last night. No idea what it was, if I need to change a few settings but I'm not making and judgements until I've had some time with it to make sure it's all set right. This CPU does get warm though, up around the 80ish°C. I'll upgrade GPU once the dust settles on the new gen.

Hmm i'll give this a try tonight as well then and see what fps i get with that setting on high. I did have it before and didn't notice any fps drops while transitioning from planet to space.

Motion blur setting? I turned this off, might be whats causing your blurring.

It can load up the cores pretty hard but mine never get that hot, for it to reach 80c i need to be hammering it in Aida64.

Your CPU is different to mine, i don't have that Cache glued on top of it and i don't know what cooler you're running? I'm running an Arctic Liquid Freezer II 360.

Some motherboards are known to run these CPU's out of spec, they have an equivalent to MCE, its a feature for Intel CPU's that pumps the CPU full of volts so it sustains its short term boost clocks long term, some motherboard vendors just think "oh we can do the same to AMD CPU's" no..... that's not how they work, it just makes them run hot, AMD clock and volts are controlled by an AI engine that monitors Amps, Volts, Temps and Load 1,000 time a second and makes optimal adjustment on the fly once every millisecond, its why they have a curve optimiser, not a core multiplyer, unless you chose to turn Advanced PBO off and use the core multiplier and manual voltage controller, don't.

In anycase check your BIOS for any motherboard vendor features that might be turned on, if there are turn them off.

Will do, I'm using an EK 240mm AIO. I'll see what everything is running at, will be whatever the motherboard defaults are. I'll have a poke around tonight. HWINFO is currently showing ave CPU volts as 1.259V

About 1.35v, that is quite normal for a 5800X, its running at 4.9Ghz, the X3D only runs at 4.4 - 4.5?

Yeah have a look, i don't know what voltages you're supposed to be running at but it seems your volts are lower than mine, and they should be.

That was just doing office stuff. I'd have to test to see what it is in game. Yes around 4.45 or so.

Picking mission decided which one I wanted and accepted mission, only to be accepted for a mission that was on another tab... thought ok not what I wanted but lets roll with it, asked me to collect 4 packages from a wrecked ship on Lyria, I get there and there are only three packages, and to top it off when retrieving the third package it glitches me inside a container next to it... no option than to Del out.
SOoooo, I regen in go to the dock and retrieve ship, click claim and it claims another ship I didnt select...
2nd mission, pick up and dispose of two Bio hazard containers. nice and simple, what can go wrong, quick A-2-B! So I get to collection point, Grab... NOPE! Grab... NOPE! Wont let me interact with the containers!

Ctrl-Alt-Del, END TASK!!!!!!!!!! stand up and walk away from the computer!

Sounds like server lag, i think with the amount of players joining lately its really slowed down the servers. Before free week i was logging in really quickly no weird rubber banding etc. However since free week i've had instances where i can't log in at all, it will just be on the loading screen forever until i open task manager and close it then start again. Usually works on the second attempt.

The game can be trying at times.

Some people do have more issues than others, don't know why, its getting a reset with the next patch because of some serious back end issues, which they say have been fixed but peoples accounts will need resting to wipe the faulty backend.

If its that bad walk away from it, come back after the patch, in a couple of weeks probably.

I just glitched hard, went to press the elevator on a station. Nothing happened, waited for abit then all of a sudden warped out of the station and about 1000m away from my ship. Instead of holding backspace to die i decided to slowly float over to my ship and continue what i was doing lol.

to each their own but I would say don't even try in this state. beta testing software is paid employment for a reason. the last thing you want to do is hate the game before it's even out.
a mate of mine years.ago was a big flight sim fan (am talking spiritual successor to F29 retaliator time ago) got a summer job beta/bug testing the game at a time before easy patches so Devs actually gave a damn about a bug free release.

by the end of it he hated that game.... and his thanks at the end,....... a signed boxed copy of the game. he sold it swearing he never wanted to see it again.
if the game is annoying you play something else. but again... to each their own

Just managed to get back on. Turned off Core Performance Boost in the BIOS to see that helps...it didn't, turns out that just makes it run at the base clock. Hitting mid 80's C on CPU (Tctl/Tdie) seems pretty hot?

It seems hot to me, what temps are you getting when you actually stress it in something like Cinebench?

Got a good run of it there, managed to clear 3 easy missions before going for a bit of an explore, ended up in a place called Lost and found. Dont know why but the area was off limits, I didnt have anything valuable so thought I'd have a nose about to see if there was any interesting loot. When I was approaching the building the auto turrets took out the ship, when I went inside I realised I had screwed up and only had a single mag, I got eliminated pretty quick and woke up in some weird place called grimhex? Proper rundown **** hole. Is this normal? I'm no criminal rating
