******Official Star Citizen / Squadron 42 Thread******

Crytek have nothing to do with this game though do they? Im guessing money has changed hands regarding licencing and whoever takes over Cryteks assets will just get what ever cut had been arranged.

CIG have customised the source code for the Cry engine that they used, although I can see it hitting future development. Crytek aren't closing down from what I gather and TBH are probably looking at ditching their games section and focusing on the technology arm. They have 400+ employees, so it can't be cheap to run.

I'm pretty sure it's been mentioned that if you have no ship i.e. didn't insure it and it got blown up you could borrow money or rent a ship, or crew someone elses.

Essentially there will always be a way of getting a ship although you may have to wait for a long time or pay through the nose via interest charged on loans etc. They want to avoid a "game over" moment.

Yeah also looking forward to SQ42, it just looks like a nice intro to the game. As much as I loved Eve Online I felt a bit thrown in, with little knowledge of the lore etc before being active in the multiplayer world. This way we get to dip our toes in and feel the temperature before being plunged in head first :P

Must admit that although I like the Xi'an Scout I'm not sure what it's meant to be comparible with, does anyone know? Lots of people on the forum compare it with the Hornet the 325i but surely it's not a dogfighter?

May even be in a grey category of it's own.

Once it's in Arena Commander it may be added as a cross-chassis upgrade mate. At least that's what they said about ships added to AC, I personally think they probably meant the traditional Aurora, hornet, 300i, Freelancer, Cutlass etc and not the ones they keep referring to as "limited sales".

Invites are fired out depending on your citizen number, not whether you'd backed or not. Stick your cash into Elite then, I've backed both but I'm waiting on Elite coming out before playing it at all.

You could get an Arena Commander pass, or take the jump, sell the FL pack on the grey market and then buy an alpha enabled Avenger.

There are alpha packs on there and there is demand so I'm sure you could sell yours, assuming you still have that option.

As always there's risk involved, I've used the grey market dozens of times on various reddit accounts.. :P Only had a problem once out of perhaps 40 trades. I originally had a Freelancer alpha pack likes yours, have now got a Cutlass one as I just prefer the ship.

From what I've heard it's one of the few things they won't swap over for you, I've dealt with them a couple of times and they are very helpful but it's pretty much a case of "you bought it, you now manage it".

Worth asking mate if they did it for Dave they might for you. You can't transfer purchases involving site credit to someone else so not like they lose anything.

Gladiator interior we can guess at, due to the WIP art that's out but like Paul says it's going to be military style and basic. Probably similar to the Hornet.

Freelancer cockpit never bothered me, I'm just not keen on the layout even with the recent changes. I do think it'll be a cracking ship though and it'll have that "I'm in a ship" feel which many of the other ships lack a little due to amazing visibility and being right up front. Not many games manage to make you feel like a character inside a ship the way SC can.
