Wrinkled bunk sheets isn't anything special, just cloth physics they've been talking about for a while. That can be applied to other stuff in game, is not made just for that.

So, what are the blockers again, from a technical perspective? Have they said anything about something like that?

1 of the issues is a fair few devs were poached by Ubisoft which wasn't that difficult as Ubi offered much better pay. It's 1 of the reasons the long awaited Banu Merchantman ship has been delayed as key staff left.

Terrapin gets my vote vs the Carrack. I messed around a good amount with it at the last show and while it's a bit of a brick I really enjoyed it. Especially considering it's game function doesn't exist yet :D


I've also not seen many detailed vids on the testing of master modes but avenger put one up.
 
i reckon they must be going for the longest game in development with the most contriversy title.
the only have to beat : "Beyond Good & Evil 2" with 5237 days (over 14year and over 1 month) its only another 5 years away tbf, people waited this long.

They had at one point 500+ employees, I really doubt they were short staffed for a long time.
 
Talking to those who did the master mode testing, of the biggest changes is the fact you do not sacrifice a weapon size for a gimbal. An S3 hard point can have a gimbal and an S3 weapon. The sacrifice is a 20% reduction in fire rate, which is still considerable. Ballistic ammo counts have increased. This is only effectively round one of the testing though.

As the years go on visually it looks less and less impressive. Hopefully they bump the settings up for final release. Back in 2012 or so the planned visuals were mind blowing.

They likely haven't even started the story, Gotta make them systems and tools first and then everything will go quick you'll see /s

CIG are too busy putting micro features in place like making sure the sheets of your bunk bed wrinkle when you sit down or lie down.

Sounds like a pretty key feature to me. Please have another £1000 for a space ship skin.
 
For those that have a joystick base you can adjust, do you have yours centre or stay where it is? I thought it would be nice to have left stick (as a throttle) stay in position but then I can imagine it being really hard to get it in position for 0% throttle, otheriwse whatever you are flying is always moving forward or back a bit no matter how slowly.

Half your dps? so its like going from a size 3 to a size 1
On that very same video that was posted here he said that going from fixed to gimbled meant that the DPS aka the speed in which the laser repeaters fires was halfed

Aka on gimbled u shoot say 30 shots a second but in fixed u should 60 shots a second
 
Although it didn't look like half speed to me. That's one of the easiest things for them to tweak though so I'm no worried. It's more the idea of you can have gimbles to help autoaim but you'll get more out of not using them if you can.

I have a bump at the centre point of my cams that makes it really clear when it's at 0. Although I use pedals for throttle so it's a bit of a non issue for me.
 
Amazing how derailed the SC and SF threads have become recently. :D

The HullA cockpit I think shows us clearly what the Spirit will be. Nice and sleek and an awful place to fly form.

Been quite a few months since i've delved into this again and now having a shiny new gpu im tempted to test it again since i still have all the data from my 3090 especially the volumetric stuff when flying through atmosphere of thick cloud.
 
Going by current info, SQ42 won't be available for another 5 years and that's being conservative :(

I have a funny feeling you may be right. Its such a shame, all of the details they shared when they got all the actors in to do their mo-cap... it looked so epic.
 
Christ even a 4090 is only about 35-40% utilised, any way to get more out of it? I feel like im capped at 60 fps but then i get drops down to 30 fps every so often.
