******Official Star Citizen / Squadron 42 Thread******

Yeah, since apparently a guy was making a mission in about 2hrs, even if you out just 3 a day to leave time for other stuff, 10 people would be 30 missions/day or 300/10 days, 3000/100 days and about 6000/200 days, leaving time in year for other stuff. Add on top dunamically generated mission / events and content should be plenty.

They were able to build planets supper fast with their tools as well (at least that is what they were boasting about), so having a system done in a short amount of time should be doable. Even procedurally generated would be good IF the add enough variables to the mix.

Anyway, time will tell.
Also check out the rasta tool. It's used to build place poi around planets and that too looks very quick to do.

A confirmed ex CIG employee posted this yesterday on Reddit, Confirmed identity by the mods, Makes for interesting reading.

Original thread - https://www.reddit.com/r/starcitize...ior_cig_employee_recently_released_something/
"The ex-employee situation is not what it was presented as. The person was offered the opportunity to relocate. They turned down the offer and got made redundant. That was then turned into an opportunity for the person to rant and get the spotlight to air their own grievances as if from a position of authority despite likely having no real authority or knowledge that would justify what they're saying. "

Interesting...

While it doesn't surprise me that it was blown out of proportion, I have seen companies simple bin a whole load of people. And paying redundancy to be able to do it.

That info from what I have read comes courtesy of a Star citizen streamer who talks to CIG devs fairly often who is also a little bit of a CIG brown nose so I'd take it for what it is.... slight damage control.

There's more update on it. His trying to defend himself and not appear as the bad guy...

Honestly this standard stuff that most companies do and make mistakes on.

I would be considered if it was like LTT where employees were being Sexualy harrased...

Guy working for business disagrees with spending decisions made higher up the tree. This would not be given credence outside of a SC thread - everybody bitches about useless projects and ill-advised spending at their place of work. And these people normally don’t understand the decision process that led to that.

I'd say spending 2-3 times of a developers annual salary on room art is quite wasteful :D

All I can say is that it's nothing to write home about...

Every company does this.

Save your hatred for a company if they Sexualy abuses it's employees or something like that.

Buying a fancy art costing more than your salary is nothing mate.

If your jealous that a piece of art is worth more than you developing a new mission into sc. Get a new career and become an artist so you can draw a drake ship and sell it to Christ Robert for large fee

And yet somebody has decided it would be great for the company’s social media presence, when doing tours of the office, business meetings etc..

Not every company spend has to be on development, and I’d always be dubious of claims made by gruntled former employees.

Define "out" and which game? Sq42 or sc?

Lol, is this what we do now, out does not mean "out" and excludes key aspects of games. so you can claim this is actually "out" as long as we stick to some very narrow parameters of what "out" means?

I'll go ahead and take that as a no and see you again next year.

You need to be specific lol.

You have not even said which game u are referring to.

My buddy @TNA is specific and asks if sq42 is out and that is not.

SC is out and can be played right now.

In that time India managed to develop and land a drone on the moon for a fraction of the cost of SC.

Wow has space exploration become affordable now? Maybe Chris is using most of the money building an actual drake ship that lands on Mars?

whilst i see your point i would say this isnt true.
SC alpha is playable, but i would not say the game is "out" until in game progress is saved permanently, and until it is at a point where game breaking bugs are ironed out.

IF it was truly out now then it would be available to be reviewed as a released product by game journalists. I very much suspect CIG would NOT want the game to be judged as a released product yet.

The problem is that while the money pours in, that will no doubt continue due to how invested many gamers are now, there’s less incentive to finish it. Could be epic, one day.
