loks ike lots of people are having issues with the installer, mine got stuck installing the video, had to delete lots of files to get it working. still got 18.8 gig to dl

Careful, deleting stuff can lead to a corrupted install. I remember there was a fix to delete various asset files during the install when an error would appear - don't do this. Surprised they still haven't solved these issues.

Early entry will be dished out in the order that preorders were received. Other than that, we know nothing else.

The more and more I read people blindly defending this game and deluding themselves, the more I want to avoid it.

That's coming from someone who played CO/STO.?
Do you intentionally come into these threads to find arguments with people, it's those instigating statements that we need less of.

But clearly, I'm deluding myself that the graphics are good.
My own opinion of something acceptable, clearly wrong!

CO/STO never had very good graphics, although STO's were better than most from the same genre.

I have explained my case previously in this thread - in some locations the graphics in SWTOR are decent, but in others they are very, very poor. I get why they have done this (to make it more accessible to the masses), what I don't understand is why people defend it so strongly (especially after just watching a few leaked videos).

Because most of us are adults i'd like to hope and are not blinded by next gen graphics being the only selling point of a game.

Story and Game play for me are 1000 times more important then if they use tessellation on a driods penis.

Please, just stop trying to provoke people into arguments. You've expressed your opinion in other posts, we didn't need to hear it again. Your turning into the new bhavv.

From my experience in the beta I has said that the story is excellent and the gameplay decent - equally I am allowed to post my opinion that the graphics are very average, just like other members are allowed to post the opinion that the graphics are excellent. Yes I have posted before, but the subject has come up again and with new members commenting.

I wouldn't stick too strongly to the "most of us are adults" comment, because my experience from MMO threads here and on the official forums speaks to the contrary.

Jesus, I guess all you can do in this thread is post positive comments. Anything negative gets criticised and you get labelled a troll. Shame this thread has gone the way of the official forums.

As a final comment on the subject, for those wondering, the game looks EXACTLY the same as the screenshots posted above by LateX'Dog. Make of them what you will.

Anyway, most of my comments were in relation to this:

Yeah from what beta leaked vids and pics I've seen from upto date sources, the game looks much better than those pics above.

Like I have said, it depends where you are in the game. This could have course be because some areas have not been finished yet.

AA will be in for release, and as it stands can be easily enabled through CCC anyway.

I never said do not post negative comments, i'm saying don't post your negative opinion 15 times when we have heard it all before.

We had the same problem with wab and his trolling of this post a while ago.

Express your opinion, reply to comments and move on. Don't wait until 2-3 pages later to re post your opinion and rinse repeat.

You may have heard it all before, but there are new people to the thread that can't be bothered to read nearly 100 pages (can't really blame them). The topic came up again, so I posted, mostly in response to the usual "I have seen a couple of videos and it looks better than the shots posted here".

wab was pretty negative, but most of his points were valid and only what had been posted by many members on the official beta forum.

Unfortunately, wab then tried to do a good thing by getting people into TOR beta via his guild, and someone here reported him to Bioware to try and get a free pass into the game.

We get it, you adore the game, some of us have a more balanced and reasoned approach to it.

I wasn't defending it per say - mearly pointing out that it's an unfinished project and likely to be tweaked before a retail release. Frankly for me it can be released as it stands - gameplay/story are far more important.

A completely fair point. It is unfinished and in beta, but we have heard that excuse many times before.

It is good to see Bioware holding this one back, even though there must be enormous pressure from EA to push it out the door.

I too wouldn't have a problem with it released now, but we know how much the reviewers hate MMOs these days, so you can understand them wanting to get it right.

I just hope they listen to the beta community, some brilliant points have been brought up, but I just don't know if Bioware are even able to make a lot of the changes. I know the engine has a lot of restrictions.

Negative and constructive are fine. But when you come into a thread and say "This game is crap because the graphics are crap" that is not being constructive nor is it benefiting the discussion in anyway.

At no point have any of us done that - those of us who have criticised it have even said we are still enjoying it and continue to play.

If people play this blindly and do not criticise, then the finished product will not last long - there are flaws, acknowledged by the majority of the beta testing team, even if you refuse to see them.

I have never seen even a single criticism from you on the game (you even seem to take personal offence when someone does post it), and to me that speaks volumes.

Luckily, for all of us, the majority of the beta team are mature and constructive.

Edit: Not you kola - no worries, AA will be added. AA regularly gets left out of betas. Very easily added through CCC though.

I just hope they fix the performance issues so many people are having (more worrying considering the AA issues).

Does anybody know of any good videos of people playing the Jedi Consular class and videos to show both specializations, Sage and Shadow. I really want to see more footage of this class but there's hardly any videos on youtube.

Also from what I've seen so far the Sith Inquisitor looks better then the Jedi Consular, by that I just mean the look of the class and the spells, the spells look a lot more visually pleasing, a lot more pretty to the eye.

There were a lot of Jedi Consular videos on betacake a while back - not sure where they are now.

I personally found the Sith Warrior and Inquisitor much better than the Jedi knight and Consular - both in terms of visuals (powers and armour) and story. Imo they have made the Jedi very wimpy and seemingly squishy with little substance. The Sith on the other hand were an absolute blast to play as. Just my opinion.

Don't rule out non-melee charactersv - the trooper and bounty hunter type classes are surprisingly good.
