I did write a lengthy reply but under the T&Cs of the testing agreement i would like to stay testing the game so cannot elaborate at this time.
Been following this game since 2008, been actively posting on the forum since 2008, signed up for the beta within 10mins of the link being posted and active.
Still no beta invite. Gutted.

I suppose in a way there is some logic to that though, like most Devs, they will know that the vast number of people who beta test arent actually testing and instead are using it more as a demo to check the game out. Someone thats massively into the game, been following it for years, is active in the community etc, is someone who is quite probably already hooked into the game and will be buying it at release anyway, so theres a kind of logic to giving beta slots to people who arent so convinced yet as that may well turn a maybe buyer into a definite buyer.
yup ditto I am a sad panda....
I disagree, it’s NOT about trying to convince people to buy the game, it’s about testing the game, making sure it works on different rigs(why do you think you had to do a scan of your computer as part of the setup)getting feedback on certain aspects of the game, the usual stuff associated with beta testing not trying to get the fan base up!
stating how likely we are to buy it.
Theres not really anything to disagree with me about
I know that beta testing *should* be about testing the game, making sure it works etc. But lets face it, probably the vast majority of people who want into a beta test end up never testing/reporting anything and really just want to play the game as a demo to see if they like it. I'm aware of that, I'm sure that every game dev is aware that many testers arent interested in testing as much as they are playing it for free in advance to see if they like it. Which is why I say theres some kind of logic there to offer slots (not all slots obviously, but some) to people who are on the fence in the hope it will sway them.
I dont think that Devs are naive enough to think that every tester is there to test and they know there will be leaks and they must know that the positives of a skeptic carry more weight than the positives of a fanatic. As I say, I could see a kind of logic in that.
Well I sort of agree on the “probably the vast majority of people who want into a beta test end up never testing/reporting anything and really just want to play the game as a demo to see if they like it”
So how did they work out who got keys or not? How do they know if people are on the fence or not. How did they work out who is going to be a real tester and who is just going to play and mess about.
I signed up months ago, I filled in everything, did the scan, I haven’t posted once of the official forums not got involved in much etc and still I didn’t get anything.
I think it was luck of the draw...
No idea how they are drawn tbh, I will say one thing though, with the exception of Rift (and so far SWToR), I have been invited to every MMO beta (for which I've applied) since 2001. For none of them have I posted on the official forums or got involved in the community. Now its probably all just a coincedence and I have been stupidly lucky for a dozen MMOs, which is fine by me, I quietly expect a SWtor beta invite to be arriving my way in time to come
The game has been in beta testing for just over a year and the game is pretty much finished although i have found a few bugs or issues in my time playing.
so im guessing you still have to report the bugs?
Isn’t there a big announcement today ? or is it the usual Friday update?
