your talking about a brazilian internationalist, who is a proven scorer for club and country, defoe on the other hand has just had 1 good season, they are leagues apart in terms of quality.

fabiano on a bad day will get 2 goals, defoe on a good day will struggle to get one.

Fabiano has had two good seasons at the 'top' level. If the Spanish league can be called that now. He's far from proven.

Nor is Defoe, but Fabiano isn't the goalscoring messiah he's made out to be.

I wouldn't say no, but I wouldn't swap Defoe for him.

fletcher and nani?

you do need more depth in midfield though, hargreaves isnt coming back i dont think and if he does he will be plagued with injury after injury, his body unfortunately wasnt made for football.

Not a United fan at all :P.

Nani goes missing half the time, Fletcher is playing way above his level - he is fine as a squad player or as a supplement for a world class midfield partner.

So a few awards from poor leagues and a few International accolades in the same year? Woop.

Its fairly consistent though. He's obviously got an eye for goal and he's managed to utilise this skill both domestically and at international level.

Look at Diego Milito as another example. He is very much a player that has come in to his own during the latter half of his career. Given Fabiano's current form I would suggest that he still has a fair few good seasons left in him.

spot on

defoe is a poor man's torres and torres hasnt been performing at all lately either (although that is most likely due to injuries and that idiot benitez constantly playing him when hes not fully recovered leading to further injuries)

they should have bought villa even if it cost them £40 million.

.

the small matter of Villa not wanting to go to England wouldnt get in the way of course LOL

i think rooney had a great season last year, this season i reckon he will fade. i think manchester will struggle this season and could end up 4th unless they get someone with raul's pedigree in.

.

Im sure Rooney is really worried about your appraisal lol - if anything he should have a better season, a nice month long (or more ) break from football, - he has no concern about being the "sole" experienced striker of Utd that he might have had last season, and that was with a barren run of 10 games in Oct time or thereabouts

No reason at all he should fade (unless he gets injured). If anything he will find it refreshing actually getting supply from his midfield when back in Manchester LOL

FYI It was £80m not £86m

Barca had been chasing him for years (and to lesser extent Real) - he was never going to come here (and if anywhere it would have been Spanish subburbs ie Liverpool until Benitez left)

No, there's no attraction to most Spanish footballers (especially attackers) to come to England, less money and they get smashed week in, week out by our many committed Ryan Shawcrosses, what's the point?

But it's the "Best league in the World" :(

less money?

real and barca are the only teams with money and its extremely hard to get into those teams. i would rather play for mid placed club in the premiership than a mid table spanish side.

but if i was good enough then i would rather play for barcelona than chelsea

I wouldn't, given the choice.

I'd happily take the Spanish life style, weather and football over mid table Premiership. I'd even rather go to Italy over a mid table Premiership side. Personally.

If I was good enough for Real / Barca I'd want one of those, Milan and Inter or Manchester United.

No, just means he's playing well.

Average players can produce good performances, and good players can produce average performances.

Fletcher is good, nothing special. He's been playing well.

rooney has only had 1 good season so far, the rest have been poor for a striker playing at manchester united.

look at his stats its a 1 goal every 2.5 games average up until this season, therefore rooney is just playing well too
