less money?

real and barca are the only teams with money and its extremely hard to get into those teams. i would rather play for mid placed club in the premiership than a mid table spanish side.

but if i was good enough then i would rather play for barcelona than chelsea

I don't think it's as much as money or who the "ryan shawcross" factor... where the top teams actually are has something to do with it.

Would you rather live in Manchester, Madrid, Milan or Barcelona?

i dont have a clue, yet before the world cup i stated repeatedly that playing rooney in the friendlies instead of our 'plan b' attack was a huge mistake.

i also said that taking heskey was a no go. he since took out our best central defender and contributed nothing to the world cup.

i also said hernandez looked good pre tournament when no one really said anything good or bad about him.

but you're right clearly i have no idea...:/

My Ma said pretty much all that before the WC, she asked me after the Mexico friendly if that Mexican kid ever stops moving.

She's 62 and as mad as a bag of badgers.

Barcelona/Real Madrid are gonna be immense next season, now Di Maria :/

Meh IMO he's done nothing during the world cup in fact he hasn't even looked like an attacking player (maybe just the role he's been given for Argentina)

Personally I'd be a lot more concerned if either signed Mata or Sanchez

Rooney got shafted when Ronaldo was at United.

And we got shafted when Rooney was with England :p

...and those other 10 players too ;)

So what is the transfer gossip or am I in the wrong place?

I was thinking this. I saw that the page count had gone on quite a few pages and thought someone has finally got someone decent... only to find rubbish talking about how average fletcher is and how good drogba and Rooney are

Some more gossip came out later today.

Wolves boss Mick McCarthy hopes to have Michael Mancienne on loan from Chelsea again next season. The 22-year-old made 33 appearances last season as Wolves finished a respectable 15th in the Premier League. (Birmingham Mail)

On a more local note... I'm worried about some of the signings that Swansea are making. We've signed two players this summer, one from League 2 and one from Conference.

I hope I turn out to be proved wrong. I know we're relatively strapped for cash, but I'd still like us to get some potential "big names" in to try and push the team forward.

Loyalty? Nah, that's a fan's rose tinted view of footballers. They're employees just like the majority of other people and they'll go where they want to go, or more than likely where there's financial reward in doing so.
.

Its well documented that both Giggs and Scholes have had HUGE offers to go elsewhere and they havent wanted to

(Im sure its a case with a huge amount of other players at other clubs also)

If anything (incl signing on bonuses etc etc) they have LOST money by staying at the same club rather than being transferred

Whether its to the club or to the Manager or a combination - it does happen (maybe not as often as it should) but occasionally a player does want to play for a "local" team and stay for his whole career

I'm trying to think of the best snarky comment to put here. I'm torn between "sideways move" and "from one mid-table club to another", bt neither of them have enough zing for me. Anyone got a better suggestion?

EDIT: This is in regards to Hodgson of course.
